Hi, I am new at menopause matters. I have just been diagnosed with the menopause at the ripe old age of 39. The doctor advised that I should start a course of hrt Elleste 1mg. I was just wondering when should I expect them to start to work?

Hi there mima.
Not on same as you, but we're all different. Can take a few weeks for you to start feeling full benefit. Some feel better more quickly. Hope you don't suffer for too long.

Hi mima. As cubagirl has said everyone is different on how long HRT takes to work but you need to give it at least three months before you really know whether it suits you or not.
Have a good look around the forum - lots of help and advice on here.

Hi Mima, welcome to the forum. You are young for meno so it makes sense to use hrt.
Can only echo what other have said, it takes time to settle, I'm 44 and been on hrt for surgical meno for around 7 weeks.
Mine has helped most of my symptoms but I have accepted thats prob as good as its going to be and i just have to get on with it.
Are your symptoms really bad?
