Title: Bleeding when on continuous combined HRT
Post by: Mandyo on June 02, 2014, 09:31:59 PM
Hi there, I am more than 3 years post meno and started HRT in January ( sandrena gel and utrogestan continuously). I seem to have what appears to be a period, I have been bleeding for a week now with period pains, sore boobs, jelly legs, back ache etc... As I am taking the progesterone without a break I wasn't expecting a bleed. Does anyone know if this is normal and should I report it to my doctor. Also is it safe to use vagifem when bleeding? ( it's not a heavy bleed - but have had it for a week now). Many thanks for your help Mandy xx

Although it's not unusual to bleed on a conti HRT it normally happens when you first start. You really should get any unexplained bleeding checked out as soon as you can.
You can use Vagifem when you are bleeding but get yourself checked out to be on the safe side.
