Hi
I take hrt tablets and wonder, is it best to take them with or without food?
Thanks.

I don't think it can make a difference at all but could be wrong .
I often wonder though if taking them first thing or last thing at night can make a difference.
Despite being on here for a good while now I am still confused as to how quickly they get into the system (and out if stopping!) but that is my own fault and need to read up more!

I keep a bottle of water by the bed, and take mine as I climb into bed with a glug of water. I only have the water to make sure it "goes down" and doesn't stick. ::)

There isn't any difference. if there was, it would say on the leaflet with them and the pharmacist would confirm when he dispensed on the label.

I read a paper recently about absorption of estradiol (which I can't get hold of any more) and there are lots of factors affecting how much estradiol gets into the bloodstream from tablet HRT particularly - including, diet, alcohol, stress, physical activity, drugs, smoking, etc. I wouldn't worry about it though - and in your case, I would try to take them at the same time each day - so that your body is getting them under the same conditions eg last thing at night.
