Title: Should I increase dose?
Post by: Libralady on March 22, 2014, 07:03:31 AM
Hello, I have now been on hrt patches since Dec 2012 and have settled on estradot 50 and utrogestan 200 for 12 days per month. All been well and have tolerated utrogestan when I could not tolerate the combined patch. However this last month am not feeling so good again. My withdrawal bleed instead of starting a few days after stopping the utrogestan took 10 days to happen. But I have also had other symptoms which make me wonder if I need a stronger oestrogen dose, tired, weepy, aches and pains and unable to sleep again. Am thinking of trying a second patch or even cutting a patch in half and trying it along with the estradot 50. Anyone done this or should I go and see my GP?

I am on Oestrogel instead of a patch as its much easier to tweak the dose and Utrogestan. So same HRT as you but my oestrogen is in gel form. Yes I would increase the dose of oestrogen sounds like it is too low. I only have very light bleeds on 200mg of Utrogestan so I would not worry about the bleeds.

This regime of HRT is  absolutely fabulous but you do have to be confident enough to tweak it  :)
