I did not know she had been ill. Don't think her weight did her any favours.

Sad news. Her weight was linked to a problem caused by her previous alcoholism - six pints of G&T every day for a long time. It wasn't the gin which caused the problem but the tonic. People who take a lot of quinine also get it. I remember her on Desert Island Discs talking about it.

It's a shame. She was the youngest female to become a Barrister when she did so at the age of 21, Wow.
