Hi all went to the clinic this morning, the first time since my op on the 27th Dec '12, he was a lovely consultant, I had a blood test first to check my levels, then I thinks he is going to increase my HRT and he also said he maybe add testosterone, he also said the weight gain around my middle could be down to a lack of estrogen, what worries me is that my blood tests will come back as a normal level and thats that and I will be left feeling not quite right and still no libido, I know I shouldnt be so negative but I have not had much luck lately but all I want is to get my life back to a bit of a normality, I want to feel good every day instead of little snippets here and there if you get my meaning xx

Hi moonbeam - so glad your consultant was nice!
Most specialists use blood tests as a guide, but they are not the whole picture and especially individuals do not experience symptoms in the same way nor at the same measured levels. Ideally the consultant should use the blood tests in combination with how you say your are feeling, and then prescribe and monitor accordingly.
Try not to worry but feel reassured that you are now in good hands. Keep note of how you are feeling from day to day and especially compared to how you were, and what you feel needs improvement - and if it is mainly libido then hopefully you will be able to try a higher dose of oestrogen with a little testosterone, and feel a lot better.

He said he will start with an increase in my estrogen and see how that goes, he thinks I may not need the testosterone but also said increasing the estrogen could in some women lower the testosterone levels even further but its all about trial and error and the waiting game, so I must have even more PATIENCE which I dont have but I have no choice but hopefully it will all come together in the end ;D ;D
