Title: Mirena causing vivid nightmares
Post by: Badga on March 13, 2014, 08:04:31 AM
Hi all

I have had my Mirena in about a month now.  Initial cramping went quite quickly.  Estradot 'sticking' very well.  No bleeding to speak of.  However, I do seem to be having panick-ridden nightmares that wake me up and that I am not sure are real or not.  These nightmares then seem to leave me 'emotionally shocked' for a couple of days, to the point that I am becoming anxious about going to sleep.

Anyone else get this?

I've had this in the past.  I think medication can cause the brain t o become over-active several years ago my dreams were so bad I dreaded going to sleep  :-\

Vivid dreams do seem to be a side effect for some women http://treato.com/Mirena,Vivid+Dreams/?a=s

I have noticed when I use Natural progesterone Cream it gives me very vivid dreams.

It must be a progestin/progesterone response.
