Title: Fatal dog virus
Post by: CLKD on March 12, 2014, 07:44:06 PM
idiopathic cutaneous and renal glomerular vasculopathy (CRGV). Idiopathic meaning that the cause is unknown.

If your dog shows any cuts in the skin or lesions go to a Vet. IMMEDIATELY!  there is no known cause for this virus which affects the kidneys = lethargy and most dogs are put to sleep  :'( because diagnosis is difficult and often dogs are not taken to Surgery soon enough.  The only way to diagnose this is by post mortem.

Have a look at Towcester Vet web-site which gives Links to other Vets. dealing with this new virus.  If anyone has any ideas as to the possible causes talk to your Vet.!

Lung worm seems to have made its way to Scotland  :(  I will be treating this year. Boosters are due next month so I will be asking my vets advice. I have a little dog who will lick all sorts of things and if it's preventable then I will guard against it.
