Hi all again, need some advice please, I have had lots of ups and down since my OP but lately it has been quite good HRT wise, have some VA issues but nothing too bad, I have an my first appointment with the HRT clinic at the end of March but was wondering if it is needed, dont want to waste their time but I am afraid to cancel and have a blip, what do you think I should do, :) :)

In my opinion, your health is never a waste of time! I'm so glad you are having success and feeling better. But as you know, there are so many ups and downs and it wouldn't hurt to take care of the VA issues!
Good luck!

Hi Mamakaren it has been 14 months since my OP and its been a long hard road and most days I feel good, today I have a headache but thats nothing to write home about, how you feel ok xx

I had mine last Janaury and have been struggling with the ups and downs as well. Alot of downs lately unfortunately! :( Have spent the the entire time trying to find something that makes me feel "normal" again!
If you don't mind me asking, what form of HRT are you using? It makes me hopeful that you are having some success with it!

I first used Climival 2mg tablets which on the whole worked great but I have stomach problems which I do think only started in Peri menopause but after changing GP surgerys I finally changed to Estradot 50 patch which are really small , I do suffer still from mood swings but otherewise they have been great, which is why I do still think seeing the HRT clinic will be a good thing, what are you on then and did you have a total Hysterecomy xx

Think it would be good to go to appointment. You may have questions you want to ask, even if it's just "what if" types of questions. For instance VA may deteriorate. Good to discuss how you've been doing. They may want to check your BP etc.

Yes thats what my daughters tells me, I do want to ask them about weight gain, as this last yr I have put weight on and have not eat to excess cause of my stomach probs, hate being overweight big time >:(

Hi
Why not write down the things that have happened and how you have felt since op and then write down questions you would ask at the appointment? My guess is that there will be at least one thing you would want to ask or tell the clinic. If I am right then you should definitely go along to the appt. I would go anyway, personally speaking that is, as the clinic may have information it needs to give to you.
It's your choice though :)

Hi yes I will go I have been waiting a yr for this appointment I'd be silly not to xx

Have you been to see a dr about the HRT since you were first prescribed it?
The advice is that women on HRT should have at least an annual check up which includes BP and general questions about how you are feeling on it and whether you need to carry on.
My gynae likes to see me every 6 months and is reluctant to give me more HRT each time until I have seen him- he wouldn't let me go more than 7 months without some sort of consultation.
How often have you been seen re. the HRT?
-
I have never seen a Gynae or been to HRT clinic since my op which was on the 27/12/12 it has only been the GP that I have seen and only cause I change GP surgery and I asked my new GP to change to the patch and to see the HRT clinic and he agreed, it is was only down to me to see a GP about my HRT , thats why I changed surgery cause my old one would never refer me x

I would go along. Take a list of your symptoms then and now - the more we share with experts the more they can pass on experiences!

Hi
I haven't been on here for a long time but thought I would hook into this post. I had a total hysterectomy nearly 3 years ago and it took a long time to get hormonal balance ( still get off days) I would definitely go to your app at the clinic. Not many GPs fully understand to the surgical menopause and you often need to be creative with HRT to be symptom free. I will continue to see my specialist every 6 months to make sure my regime keeps me well. Good Luck.

Thanks all, I will definitely go xx
