Did anyone else hear the Woman's Hour piece on anxiety this morning? They had a couple of experts in the studio and a woman relating her experiences of life-long anxiety. She is now 63 and the anxiety has stepped up a gear and she was having a dreadful time. In all of the talk about treatments and medication the menopause wasn't mentioned once!! I was driving along shouting at the radio - it really got me annoyed.

That makes at least two people shouting at the radio at the same time. >:(
I couldn't understand why menopause related anxiety didn't get a mention.

What treatment did they suggest Taz

I think it was counselling and talking therapies. Have a listen - it's not a very long piece.

I was annoyed too about them not mentioning menopause, if I could tweet would have said try some HRT and see if that helps >:(

Especially when she was asked why it is that women between 60 and 70 seem to suffer from much higher levels of anxiety then men of a similar age!

There must have been some reason it wasnt mentioned, if we have all picked up on it doubtless someone form WH will now have picked up on it. I just felt so sorry for that lady who has been so plagued by anxiety.

It just seemed really strange that it wasn't mentioned especially as Women's Hour have had two programmes recently focusing on the menopause and HRT. Just seemed odd not to link them in somehow.
