Title: forced menopause
Post by: charlieangel159 on February 20, 2014, 10:41:02 AM
Hi, has any one else on here got experience of a forced/surgical menopause. I am 35 yrs old and struggling with work/life and waiting for HRT to kick in! How long before I start to see/feel a difference? I am currently on elleste solo 1mg. I am so emotional, cry at nothing and feel exhausted, which makes me want to cry even more!! I miss my sleep! Only been married 3 years and we are rarely in the same bed, it seems wrong but we r both happy with this at the moment! thanks for reading   :)

Hi charlieangel

I think I've posted on your other message but as said on there, that is a very low dose of oestrogen to be prescribed for someone so young, but also it takes a while too to have maximum effect. Best to increase gradually to avoid side effects.

Have you read on here about HRT and hysterectomy as there is the issue of testosterone as well?  I hope you are under a speciliast gynae so that you can get the right treatment you need, especially at your age.

Good luck and don't give up hope - we can help support and encourage you!
