Title: Anyone been late changing their HRT patch?
Post by: Shazzie on February 16, 2014, 05:38:31 PM
Hiya

I have had my repeat prescription at my pharmacy for Femseven Conti parches the past 8 days and they have told me today that the patches are out of stock at the wholesalers and would take another week to get them.

I am due to change my patch on Tuesday and wondered if anyone had experience of how quickly the symptoms return after a 3 day break.  Hope the symptoms don't all flood back.

Thanks for any help.

I don't know the answer but can you maybe get your prescription back and take to another pharmacy?

Hi Anna

Thanks for replying.

They wouldn't give me the green prescription back as I had another med on there that I picked up.  He said he could give me a photocopy;which I took to another pharmacy and the pharmacist said that they couldn't accept the photocopy and agreed that I couldn't have the original back because it has the other med on it  She asked me to contact my GP tomorrow and get it to the other chemist then.

It is a bit stupid.  She also said that they only had one pack left as they too were having trouble ordering it.

As you are on a conti patch you may find a bit of breakthrough bleeding due to the drop in progesterone but I wouldn't have thought it would make much difference and you can just put the new patch on when you get them.

Thanks for your reply Taz.

The Pharmacy said they would ring as soon as it comes in so fingers crossed it won't be too long.
