Hi.
I'm interested to know of anyones experiences of using acupuncture to help with perimenopause symptoms? I was having a dreadful time both on and off hrt and while waiting for the specialist appointment. I tried it and It seems to be the only thing that seems to help?

If it helps don't knock it ;)

I had several accupuncture sessions last year when I was suffering from terrible insomnia. It helped a lot and I found it very calming. I haven't needed it since my HRT kicked in.
I also had accupuncture when I was a few weeks pregnant with my daughter. I suffered from 24 hour nausea and could not even bear to smell coffee never mind food. My doctor offered me accupuncture in his own time free of charge to see if it would help. Two appointments over two consecutive days and I was able to eat normally. He just left a small plaster on my wrist with a tiny needle point underneath and if I felt sick at all, I just had to press on it gently and it went. People may knock it, but it works for me.

I've had it for pain relief for other things and it has always worked well for me.

Acupuncture does work in many instances, my Acupuncturist put a plaster with a tiny needle point in my ear, it helps with loosing weight I had to press it every so often, you might scoff but it worked, this was about 19 years ago, a tad expensive to have regularly though.
She does facial acupuncture now as well.

I have had it twice for my dicky knees.
The first time was very successful. The second time hurt a lot and I was told if it hurts it was not going to work. It was part of my NHS physiotherapy appointments.
I was very disappointed as it had helped so much in the past.
If it works for you then great.
