Baby Gorilla, rejected by her Mum, is 6 months old today - lovely video of her exploring the enclosure at Bristol Zoo with her Keeper :-*
-
Very nice - but what's a baby gorilla got to do with a rare giraffe? When I saw the thread title that's what I thought I would be reading about!!! :-\

Go to the first thread Taz ………….

Nope. One can do what I did ;)

But the title says giraffe and the first post talks about Rothschild and then lion cubs - and that was two and a half years ago :-\
I am still bemused about all of this!

I work at a zoo and Rothschid is an endangered species of giraffe.
I assume the 3 white lion cubs were born around the same time in Poland.
We have quiet a few Rothchilds giraffes at Chester Zoo they are lovely animals.

:thankyou: Lanzalover! This was not clear from the post and there was no link! As far as I know Rothschild is a wine, a rich family, and a bank.
CLKD - please do provide links to interesting stories - we don't always all have the time/inclination to Google everything! :)

If I hadn't known Rothschilds were a type of giraffe I would have been confused too.
I didn't know it was a wine so I've learnt something tonight.

What "first thread"? Is it this? http://indexdigital.co.uk/giraffe-born-at-port-lympne-reserve/

Hi Taz 2
This is all getting rather confusing.
I think CLKD ment to say first post not first thread. If you read the thread now it may be a little clearer.
I think part of the confusion has arisen because it wasn't made clear Rothschilds are a species of giraffe and the first post is actually from 2014.
Anyway hope I haven't made matters even more confusing. I did try to find the gorilla video mentioned in the thread but was unable to find it the only one I could find was of the gorillas birth by c.section !!! on the Bristol Zoo website but couldn't figure out how you post a link (I' m not very good at anything technical) if you get a chance do have a look as it is very interesting.
