I don't read the daily mail I just came across this as I was googling as I am at the end of a period & feel about 1000 years old & sick as a dog. Thought it might be interesting or totally not. The lady says she is looking forward to the menopause, I was too until early last year  ::)

Hi Bev

What she's talking about in the article is an endometrial ablation and there is a new version of this I think. It is listed under treatments for heavy bleeding on this website here:
