Is this any use to anyone to fight your corner re HRT. Its from MIMS the GP prescribing bible and tells you latest cost of HRT http://www.mims.co.uk/Tables/882443/Hormone-Replacement-Therapy-HRT/
For eg Estrogel and Ultrageston are cheaper than patches :)
-
Thanks ellie66
The cost information is also available on this website under HRT preparations - menu (green writing) on the left.
http://www.menopausematters.co.uk/treatment.php
The sub-menu gives the different products and how much they cost - but under the headings for peri/post menopause etc.

Yes noticed that but last updated in 2011 MIMS itself is updated monthly hence my post :)

That's interesting.
For anyone on Systen/Evorel Sequi (such as myself), it works out cheaper to buy 3 packs of Evorel (oestrogen only) and 3 packs of Conti rather than 6 of the Sequi version.
-
Interesting that there are no prices (bottom of the table) for the local oestrogen only (ie vaginal) products. And how few there are. Not really a choice at all now that Orthogynest pessaries are discontinued.
-
Yes I spotted that with put my NHS hat on and see if I can find some prices.
-
The prices on Menopause Matters are kept up to date.
The date of the holding page that contains the prices page hasn't needed to be updated but the embedded prices pages have.
I've passed this info on and the pages are now showing today's date (5 Dec 2013)
You can see the same thing on the news page where the holding page is 2011 but has current news items.
A page on this site is actually made up of ten separate pages all with different dates of when they were last modified - header, footer, navigation, adverts etc.

Brilliant many thanks Emma when my GP and I where looking at this site on Sunday working out to prescribe we were not sure if they were up to date. Issue was my GP was worried about cost and the Prescribing Advisor.

:thankyou:

Thanks Emma.
Such a shame that Orthogynest pessaries are being discontinued. And even more so when they are half the price of vagifem 10s. Not to mention poss needing to double up vagifem. >:(
-
How much are Vagifem 10s? Does anyone know?
-
As Emma says, the prices are on this forum. Click on the link that Hurdity has posted.

So, in my case then as I am doubling up, it is costing £16.72 for 6 weeks comfort ie £2.62 a week.
Probably less than a coffee.
