Why did 'they' feel it necessary to dress George in a girl's outfit >:( all flounces and frills ........

It was a replica of a family heirloom, I believe. I think tradition is nice. I've got my father's Christening shawl, though neither of ours have been Christened.

It's tradition. One of my sons was christened but by the time we got round to it he didn't fit into the gown worn by my great grandfather ::) ::).

It's a dress ::) if they want to be 21st C they have to let go of tradition :P

I looked at the pictures. They look like a happy family! The baby is gorgeous....I think he will be quite handsome 20 years from now :)

I love tradition, what a lovely baby, and he is hardly going to go to school in a frock, my kids were also christened in family robes, boys & girls, I think they all looked wonderful.

It is not a girl's outfit for heaven's sake it's a Christening robe. It's traditional. What did you want the baby to be dressed in....a Dinner suit.
Every single christening I have been to and I have been to many the baby...boy or girl has had a beautiful robe. I still have my son's all wrapped up in tissue and in a sealed bag along with a beautiful shawl.
What would you have suggested he wore CLKD.
Oh, he was a lovely baby and we got a great view of him.

Something less flouncy ;) .......... all that lace and ruffles around his neck ::) ....... my late Uncle hated velvet because he was dressed in it until the age of 4 :'( ......... very Victorian Granny I had :D
George certainly looks a chubby chap ......... older than 3 months some how ???

Tell you what. How about a track suit with a baby sized baseball cap on back to front. That's very modern and up to date ;D
He has a chubby little face. His mum is doing a great job with him but he looked about the right size for weeks to me.

Babies are meant to be chubba, certainly not fat! Looks like William, though they all say he looks like Kate.
Christening gowns are very traditional, not sure where mine went. Pretty sure both my brother & I wore one.

I don't think he looks like Kate at all. He's a mini William.

He has his moms colouring and eyes and his cheeks are adorable, he is a bouncing healthy, hopefully breastfed baby, am sure of it, which is why she got her figure back so quickly, he is absolutely gorgeous.

LOOKING at Williams hair hes lost even more since July poor sod
