Hi all
Just wondered if any one can identify with this....
Been off HRT since January, (was only on it six months) and went back to monthly bleeds after a year of hardly any periods. Now on Vagifem only. I had a bleed the month after coming off the HRT, but have had no sign of a period since then, and absolutely no menstrual symptoms - until two weeks ago. I had really REALLY tender boobs, was bloated, craving chocolate...bad tempered, all the usual PMT stuff. A few cramps too. I waited expectantly for my period - but absolutely nothing. No bleeding, no spotting nothing. Today the sore boobs have gone, I feel great again.
Is this normal in meno?
Thanks x

I would think so sweet pea. Your bleed once you came off HRT would have been due to you stopping the progesterone. This usually causes a bleed. Now you are back into your normal cycle - or what is left of it - and so you are going through normal peri-meno where the hormones tend to fluctuate so you can get symptoms of leading up to a period but then the lining hasn't built up enough to shed or the hormones needed for a period to begin aren't released by your body. Sorry I'm a bit rushed so it might sound rather muddled!!

Not muddled at all Taz... makes perfect sense now you explain it.
I have also noticed that I have not had any sweats or flushes for about a month too...they were terrible for a while, about 20 a day I was dripping :-[
This hormonal stuff is so weird...
Thanks for taking the time x

Some women notice that the flushes stop as a period looms. Sounds to me you may still have your own natural cycle working a bit.
Enjoy the lack of flushes when you can

Yep: and yep .......... are you eating regularly? Some of the PMT can be helped by eating every 3 hours ........ I wrote a thread here somewhere ::)
