Hi
I am 47 and still have periods.
I just started hrt today, taking femoston conti.
It says to take it every day, and the pills are labelled with each day of the week.
I picked the first wednesday blister and took the pill.
If I am to take these daily, when do I get my bleed pelase?
Many thanks.

Sounds to me as if you have been given the wrong one. You won't get a bleed on a conti HRT. You can in theory use this but your own cycle may well break through. You should have been given the sequi version unless there is a specific reason your GP has given you these.

But, I checked with the pharmacist and she told me that its ok for me to have these.
What should I do please?
Thanks

It is ok and will do you no harm at all. It's just at your age when you are still having periods a sequential HRT is prescribed. You can bleed or have spotting for up to 6 months on a conti.
I was on a sequi for three years before I switched to a conti.
I would call your GP and ask if this is the HRT you are meant to have.
Don't worry it will get sorted.

Hi Honeybun
The problem is, it's really difficult to get an appointment with my GP as she is part time. It can take two weeks. I don't want to stop taking these pills and get my horrible symptoms back.
Would it be ok to still take these pills why I am waiting for an appointment?
Many thanks.

Yes I would take them. Can you not just call and leave a message and ask for a change.
Hope this helps.

dandelion - I've answered on your other thread. Yes it's OK to take them but I would want to go onto the oestrogen only part of the Femoston sequi after a fortnight.
Even if she did mean to give them to you they are not meant for women who are still having periods.

Hi
Thanks, but it may take more than two weeks to see my doctor, as she is off on half term next week, and only works part time.
There is a 'continuity slot option' though, (dunno what it is) that my GP told her about, when I said it is really difficult to get a slot to see her.
