Help!! I have been peri-menopausal for about three years and this year I have started with asthma. The last few days I have been getting up after sitting and feeling very dizzy, then I get very hot and sweaty and I'm left feeling a bit sick - anyone else like this? I have been taking antihistamines for my asthma (as well as inhalers) but stopped taking the anti-histamines as they were making me very sleepy - not sure if I should take them again to help with the dizziness. Any advice? Thanks, Janice

Do you have a trapped nerve in your neck? Sometimes if I move after sitting i.e. over NintendoDS for hours at a time, I feel woozy. Happened yesterday so have put down the NintendoDS for a few days!
Do you have an inner ear infection which can lead to dizzyness?

Hi Jan
I have also found dizziness once of the worst symptoms to deal with. Worst of all is the nausea. I'm never quite sure whether the nausea makes me feel dizzy or the dizziness makes me feel nauseous. What's frustrating is the fact that it seems only a small percentage of us suffer in this way so doctors don't seem to recognise it. This can lead to a lot of anxiety as you worry, if these are not symptoms of the menopause then what are they.
If you're worried, go to your doctor and get checked out. If they find you're okay, then get support here or wherever you can. I'm in my 4th year of this c**p so hoping it will settle down soon.
Sending you hugs :)

Bomber I am another one who has the chief symptom of nausea. Its like morning sickness exactly the same, smells make you feel off, can't take big tablets, bit gaggy having only ever been gaggy in pregnancy. If you google it you do find it is quite common but no GP seems to agree :-\ What do you take to help? xx

hi all,
I have experienced this briefly this year; especially when rising from sitting, really awful, can be a symptoms of low blood pressure. You can also be suffering from adrenal fatigue, and although many doctors don't really recognise adrenal fatigue, I do believe that we women are more susceptible to adrenal problems around this time of life,. quite simply the adrenals can become stressed, hormones can go awire especially thyroid as a result. Truthfully this is about as much as I know. medication does not help it just stresses the body more. What about trying something to aid your adrenals such as licorice or gingseng, ashwagandha (in small doses can be really good~~) these symptoms do pass, but they're not pleasant and hate feeling dizzy, and nausea too.
I hope this helps and hope your asthma improves, just trying an anti-inflammory herb will help, and also just practising taking deep breathes. Apologies if you have been doing all of this.
I suffered from asthma for years, won't bore you, so know what it's like, I was so ill with it.
Hope you feel better soon!
