...I was told I would get my biopsy results in 7 - 10 days but guessed it would take longer after reading what others had said. Almost 4 weeks though is taking the pee!!! I phoned the hospital today and spoke to the gynecologist secretary. She said the results are on her desk but she cannot tell me what they are on the phone and the gynae is not in until Monday to sign. I asked if I should be worried and she said if it was anything major I would have been contacted by now. She added that the gynae would write to me to let me know his treatment plan :o...so... I'm now thinking what on earth that treatment plan is.. and assuming it doesn't mean there is nothing? AAAhhhhhhgggg shouldn't have phoned on a Friday!! :-\

4 weeks is taking the P >:( ........... has your GP had a letter?
A treatment plan may mean nothing required. A watch and wait strategy. The Secretary isn't allowed to reveal information but I hope she realises that 4 weeks is way too long! Maybe a letter to the Consultant stating how stressed you were becoming with the wait.
Keep yourself busy and let us know if you do, indeed, receive a phone call on Monday!

So sorry to hear that you are having to go through this worry. My sister went through this earlier in the year, was told the results were on the consultants desk but she had to wait for results until the consultant was in..... but hers were all fine and im sure your will be too as they would have contacted you if there was anything to worry about .
I know what you mean about phoning on a Friday - all weekend to worry, which is why i've chosen not to ring for some blood results that I'm waiting for today!
Hope you get the phone call on Monday - let us know how you get on, will be thinking of you

Thank you for your lovely supportive comments. Yep it's been a pain waiting and worrying.. I will of course update you as soon as I hear anything. GP hadn't heard anything last time I spoke to her but I feel sure if there was anything to worry about and she HAD heard, she would call.

hi Lynne I didn't see why you had the biopsy (read your last thread) but it staggers me you had the procedure without a GA!
I had a postmeno bleed in 2011 that lasted 7 days and after it still had a womb lining of 11mm so had a hysteroscopy & biopsy. It was all clear, but I had to wait weeks to hear too :rant: Its terrible having to wait but at least you know that it must be ok...nothing nasty I'm sure :) I didn't even need a follow-up appointment, I just had the hospital consultant tell me the Vagifem caused the thickened lining, I was using the Vagifem 25 and under gp instruction had used it for about 6 months.
I hope everything has settled? the bleeding? and I hope you hear very soon :)

I really don't think its anything to worry about I have no doubt if it was anything serious you would have heard straight away.

Losttheplot.... It was quite tough having the procedure I have to say. I don't think I'm a baby when having this sort of stuff done but it was difficult not to cry!! When I got outside on the car park, I started to cry. I found it quite traumatic. I bled for 17 days.. 14 of them like a mid flow period and the past 3 quite light. I thought new information about vagifem suggested that it didn't have any impact on thickened lining? When the person I spoke to at the hospital said yesterday that it wasn't anything major, I assumed she meant it wasn't cancer.. I guess I could still need a hysterectomy. She also said they would have phoned if there was a serious problem so I am hopeful but she hinted that something needed treatment.. I hope they are quite quick with the letter now.
It all seems to have dragged on and on!
Will of course post as soon as I hear something. x

That's terrible! Agree though that if anything serious had shown up they wouldve got straight back to you.

It may be a continuation of previous treatment which the Secretary may not be aware of? Keeping busy I hope ;)

don`t panic you would have heard something by now if you had a problem. My daughter is a radiographer and they know when doing these tests if any think is wrong and it would have been flagged up by them. They are not allowed as a profession to tell patients but the consultant would have been told fairly quickly and you would have heard something within a few days . Certain protocols have to be followed when things are found so put your mind arrest

I received your message and I do think by know you would have received an answer from the consultant if you had a major problem. I am surprised the radiographer said anything as it is rather usual unless they know you well, that might say what they think they have found. I am only told for e.g. that when I go for a breast scan they will let me know if all is well before I leave as they know my daughter and I will not let on.

Thank you very much for replying. I am hoping this is the case. I did go to my GP last week , we talked about the cyst being fluid filled and the GP suggested it might need to be drained but I didn't get chance to ask about it in great detail. She was quite dismissive of me and at the time I was more concerned about the blood tests that she was sending me for....... My blood results should be back at the GP later today so I think I might ring to get them before my appointment on with the Gynae on Thursday. If I do I will also ask for more detail about the cyst at the same time....,this is scarey for me but I think I need to be prepared and be ready to ask the right questions .

When I had a pelvic scan a few months back the sonographer told me that everything looked normal to her..

Eventually got biopsy results through.. they are all normal :) I have been to see my GP today and there were no other issues. She has asked me to try estring. She has asked me to change before and says it's less fuss than using the vagifem twice a week... I'm going to give it a go. I started up the vagifem again a few weeks ago as my constant urination was back with a bang and whilst it IS better, it's not great yet. Maybe a change will do me good but if it's not right I shall stick with vagifem.. it's been great for me. Thank you again for all your lovely comments and encouragement whilst waiting for these results to finally arrive! xx

Hey Lynne - I've been wondering how you were as we hadn't heard. Great news and hope you notice an improvement with the Estring soon! Let us know how you get on....

:bounce: now you can get on with Life. Maybe write a letter to the Consultant though to remind him how worrying not knowing can be!

Goodness me, what a long wait. Good news for you though :)
Hope the e-string works well for you, let us know won't you as I'm sure it's not just me who would like to know alternatives to vagifem.

I didn't cope very well with the worry at all!!! I rang my GP a few times in a bit of a panic! I guess in the end, everyone was saying I would have had a phone call within about 10 days if there had been an issue and as this hadn't happened I started to feel more calm! I wouldn't wish it on anyone though :( When they say 7 - 10 days it should be that..not nearly 5 weeks.

I expect your report got under a pile of other paperwork!!!! which is why the Consultant should be informed of how worrying these situations can be ;)

You are absolutely right!! When I rang and spoke to the consultants secretary, she told me she found it under a pile of paperwork. I have to see him again about the ovarian cyst so I intend to mention it :)
