Title: Gynest Cream!!
Post by: Tina1957 on September 04, 2013, 08:36:32 AM
Hi
Had to stop HRT at Xmas due to a severe Progesterone allergy, but 2 weeks ago started using Gynest Cream for problems down below.

Since starting it my general well being has seemed to improve, (feeling a little like I did when on full HRT) - apparently only a very tiny amount gets into the bloodstream, but I definitely have noticed a difference - has anyone else noticed this?

The question I want to ask is, would I be allowed to use this Cream on a regular basis - at the moment it has been prescribed as follows: 2 weeks using everyday and for 4 weeks twice a week.

The bonus for me is that no Progesterone is required, but would that change if Gynest was used on a longterm basis?

Gynest cream is Estriol Tina, it is often called "The Forgotten Hormone"

Here is some info that you might find interesting.

If a woman is considering stopping full HRT, it might be worth going onto Estriol long term.

Would it be freely prescribed by a GP.

It makes very interesting reading.

What meant to say that even if you stop HRT because of personal choice or because you have reached age that your Dr thinks you should, you can continue using Gynest or Ovestin for VA health long term. I think its licensed for that.

You can buy Estriol cream online even amazon sell it, not prescription eg Gynest though.

I use Gynest as and when if I need it, other ladies use it on a regime basis.

There are compounded oral hormones that are made up of mainly estriol but they would only be available privately.

Tina1957 if you are feeling good on Gynest the continue with it (its great to feel good) even ladies as late as  in their 70s and 80s have been started on Gynest for VA and benefit.

Hi Ladies
Thank you for all your replies and the great info!

It's reassuring to know that I can continue with Gynest long term, I just presumed it was a six week course, so will definitely speak to the GP.

After the 2 weeks of daily Gynest  even my flushes reduced (taking Gabapentin at the moment with not much success) - however, after reducing to the twice weekly dose they seem to be returning.

Is the long term dose definitely only twice weekly?

As I can not take HRT which requires Progesterone, Gynest, seems like maybe an answer for me!
