Title: Royal Baby
Post by: Cassie on July 22, 2013, 07:04:32 AM
Something to cheer us all up on this Monday morning, Kate has apparantly been admitted to St Marys in the early stages of labour, my money is on a girl, hope that all goes well, wonder if she will end up having a C Section as often happens with first time babies.

I reckon a girl too. Victoria maybe, with Diana as a middle name. Of course being a modern couple, name may well be less traditional

Each to their own PF I love them :) and a new baby is always so exciting no matter who the parents are.

Why CLKD?

My niece gave her daughter her dead mum's name as middle name. The Royals are no different.

I do think the TV channels are going OTT with coverage though.

I don't envy her having been very pregnant in this heat. Royal or not I bet she can't wait to get this baby out.

I love the fact that she is going to stay with her mum after the birth. Bit of nose thumbing to Royal protocol I think.

Hope it all goes well for her and that she is not to posh to push. Those don't look like child baring hips to me.

Kate's dad is called Michael Francis, so if they give him Francis as one of his names they've done a grandad and grandma in one name (Diana was Diana Francis!). I think Charles will be in there too.

Well I am a bit of a Royalist, I think I have inherited it from my Dad , he always use to stand up when the national anthem came on.
Well done Kate & Wills.

Personally I think James would be nice, so long as it isn't shortened, as I detest Jimmy.  Can you imagine King Jimmy?   ::)

He's going to get a load of names anyhow, to keep the family happy.

It won't be James because that was the name of Diana's old lover, Capt. James Hewitt.

wont be David that was the one who abdicated name
Not John or Richard unlucky Royal names Nor Oliver or Henry
Dont think iy will be Phlip as Queen sometime in 80s Changed the house of Wimdsor to Mountnbatten/ Windsor This baby if he neds a surname thats what it will be
George? Edward, Arthur? Best bet here is Spencer will be used as a Christian name
Thought it was very aproriate that Cammila kept her dsitance

Think the baby is going to like Kate's Dad, more Middleton then Winsor, he will be a handsome boy.

Prince George Alexander Louis of Cambridge.

How on earth will the Press  abbreviate that?

Title: Re: Royal Baby
Post by: Joyce on July 24, 2013, 06:03:58 PM
Why would they want to abbreviate it? Very traditional.
Title: Re: Royal Baby

Thinking of Harry and Wills - Henry and William

My grandfather was called Charles Louis Rinaldi, Louis was a family  name  :)

Poor kid - a boy with the initials GAL. ;D ;D

I am also surprised that they chose the name Louis. Presumably this is after Mountbatten. Coming so soon after the Jimmy Savile investigations as well. It was Mountbatten who introduced Savile to the rest of the Royals.  Absolutely unbelieveable!
Title: Re: Royal Baby
Post by: Suzi Q on July 25, 2013, 04:44:35 AM
George after the Queens Dad even though his real name was Albert or Bertie
He chose George as his Kings name following his Dad
Alenxander well Philip was Prince Phipil of Greece he had o renounce his name to marry LIzzie
Thats why he was given the title HRS Duke of Edin he only started to b called PPHIL silver wed?
Some time later the HOUSE of WINDSOR was changed to the house of Mountbatten Windsor
Loui after Mountbatten Charles second Dad Lord Mountbatten
I didnt know that they said if baby needs a surname it will be not George Wales
It will be George Mountbatten/Windsor

BUT it would have been nice to have put in there Spencer as a Christina name to honour is MUM
After all half his blood DNA and gentics are Spencer and the Spencers are more Blue blooded
Than the Windsors who decend from Mayors of Hanover
George Alexander Spencer Loui would have been nice He may even in 60 years time when we are all dust decide to call himself  KING ARTHUR its his choice not William?
Title: Re: Royal Baby

Wills and Harry aren't press alterations to the Princes' names - they are 'official' names announced by the Royal Family when the boys' names were announced.  This little one will be knows as Prince George.

Apparently had a shortlist made up during pregnancy. I guess Royal protocol dictates as he will be king one day.  Guess Tyler didn't make the shortlist then.  ;D

IM sad Spencer wasnt in there would have cost nothing and shown respect and love
Still at least Williams totaly different off to MUM for a few days maybe weeks
Imagine that in Dianas day out of hospital with in 24hrs and alone at KPalace
He doesnt seem the type to bow to anyone not even the Queen
Real test will be when he HAS to leave the Fiorces this year
He coujld have at least 25 years maybe 30 before he becomes KIng at 60isah
NO choice Harry wont leave you cant expect the other Royals to work for no pay from Gov
They do though only Phil Queen and Charles are on the Civil list
Lest face it whod work for no money I wouldnt

Think William knows the pitfalls after what happened with his mum. Think he will want to protect Kate as much as possible.
Hadn't realised his time with forces was nearly up though.
Title: Re: Royal Baby

Yes Charles and Cammila will be taking on all the major overseas trips the Queen and Philip did
So William and Kate will basicaly have to do what Charles and Cammila are doing
He will become then the pre Prince of Wales in waiting I think he will be bored shitless
I bet this is where the marriage will face thew strain
One year Pilot rescue adrenaline new baby end of year NOTHING
Opening an envelope OH they are coming to Ozz but his life will be 100% different he will find it hard

When is this next Royal Baby due, it seems like this pregnancy is like that of a elle ..........  :D Meghan looks good thus far but surely, it's time to hatch  ;)
Title: Re: Royal Baby
Post by: Pennyfarthing on April 12, 2019, 08:27:21 AM
So the Sussex pair are  not going to share news of the baby until after they have shown it to the family.  That's a real break with royal tradition but apparently what they  want however  I guess more like what Meghan wants.  She does seem to want to attract more and more attention to herself and her ideas by doing stuff like this.  A few minutes photocall and it would all be over and done with.

I also suspect it has a lot to do with the gaping chasm between her and her father.

Hello Ladies.

I'm not really a royalist but I was wondering what has happened to this baby. I realise that Brexit has been dominating the news but still...

Stellajane - I like your comment about first time mothers! I seem to remember believing I could cope with anything and would manage a pain free birth just by deep breathing. The hormones were on my side back in the day and I was calm and confident. Needless to say events didn't go as planned and after a forty eight hour labour, an epidural, epesiotomy and forceps the size of crutches my darling daughter was born. She was worth it though as all babies are.

Take care everyone.

K.

I'm not a royalist, I couldn't care less, but I suspect there's trouble
on the horizon, if we believe what's in the papers, that is....

I think she's already rocking the boat.
I also think your hubby is right, stellajane.
I also think she'll rock the boat so much, that both of them will be trouble.
You can see he's totally in love with her, anything she does will have his backing, and if that means rubbing people up the wrong way, or breaking any rules, then, he'll be with her.
He won't care, what did he say,'whatever she wants, she gets!'
There's already trouble between him and his big brother.....
What happened to Diana, changed my way of thinking about them, she was THE best thing to ever step into the royal family, and look what happened to her!
I like William and Kate, in small doses, but I can't help thinking Mmm, somethings not right here, with the other two!  Time will tell I suppose......😉

Title: Re: Royal Baby
Post by: jillydoll on April 13, 2019, 09:34:53 PM
Apparently, if we believe what the papers say that is, is that there's a rift between them.
William doesn't like the fact that his sister in law spent sooo much money on her baby shower, and that she's involved with too many celebrities, apparently, the royal family, don't include their celebrity friends, with anything ‘royal'. They keep the two separate.  ?
Amongst other things, which I can't remember, apparently they even had words on the wedding day itself.
But you know what the papers are like...who really knows..?
Title: Re: Royal Baby
Post by: sheila99 on April 13, 2019, 10:28:51 PM
I think she's going to annoy many royalists who would be her supporters. Personally the less I see of her the better but for many people it's a big event. Imo the only justification is if they think there might be something wrong with it.

Barry 😂
Terry.
Keith.

I don't give a damn to be very honest.

Nor me!  Thomas definitely won't be on the name list. 😂😂

I think the royals are out of order not even mentioning Meghans father on the “easel” announcement.  Whether they like it or not he IS the baby's grandfather and he did bring Meghan up and pay for her to go to college.

I think it's all very sad that they are trying to erase him from their lives.  I have heard all the arguments about him and the press but I still think M and H should rise above this and at least acknowledge that he is the grandfather. I thought his comments on the royal baby were very considered and dignified under the circumstances.

I like the Royals myself. I'm not an ardent fan who would stand out in the rain for hours to see them but think that they are a benefit to the country. I haven't tried to guess the name for the newest addition. I predicted correctly for Charlotte but I am unlikely to get it right twice. If it had been a girl, I'd have predicted Diana.

The thing is what would we have if we didn't have them = a Republic I.e., more politicians- no thank you! I agree they do bring a lot of money into our economy, the Chinese for one are fascinated by them, just look outside Buck house, the tourists love em....
However, they are not like us, and never will be like us......
They don't have to go to food banks, after a god knows how long a shift, or ring the electric company up to tell them they can't afford their recent bill!
They are who they are, like em or loathe them, they're here to stay....they seem to be multiplying, so there will be more, and more of them......

Thing is,tourists would still come here with or without them, how many tourists actually see them'the castles and palaces aren't going anywhere.
It's not that I hate them, like you said Jill, they are who they are but when we have people living on the streets throughout the year dying of the cold and here's them in huuuuge houses with god knows how many rooms, just ain't right

Brad, that would be funny if they did, although I have my doubts Harry is royal, looks too like Diana's affair man, whatever his name was, baby's title is something or other of Dumbarton?!?! Has anyone been there? Not the most stunning place in the world 😆
Harry has to be James Hewitt's son there is no-way he is Charles' or is it only me with the conspiracy theory ;)

William saying "welcome to the sleep deprivation society" and then Jeremy Vine talking about having babies and the sleep thing, I had to turn radio off it's not only new parents that suffer from Sleep Deprivation >:(

My OH hates em. Don't even like the news coverage on tele..
He says they ought to go round the streets and see for themselves how people live.
But that's it isn't it, if your privileged you don't ever really know the real world...

Would you want their lives through.  Don't think I would.

With everything done for you, with everything you'd ever wanted, best ever care you could ask for, not to mention the bank balance, and designer clothes, always someone there to give their best to you, all the best comfort and private planes you could ask for, .....er....
I don't know, I'd give it my best shot....😂😂
The only thing they worry about is the paparazzi, but when they need them they're glad they're there!

Me too I prefer my privacy. I think Harry looks like Prince Charles (same eyes), but with the Spencer colouring x

My colleague suggested that the 2nd name Harrison stood for Harry's son.

I know a few parents who have given similar names. Edison (Eddie's son) Olson (Ollie's son) Samson (Sam's son) and Jayson (Jays son)

We certainly DO NOT support the Royal Family.  There are ways of finding out where the income etc. comes from and what is paid out etc. but I'm too tired to look.  They bring a huge amount of income into the UK and without the artistrocracy, much more of the UK would be built over with concrete and housing.  Trust me .........

Diana - who I could never tolerate - went onto the streets.  Which is where the caring natures that her two boys have come from.  It will always be a wonder where Harry fits in ;-) but he has said publicly that James isn't his father  :-\.

Diana also courted the Press when it suited her.  As for everything to hand, why not  :-\ - I already live like that in many respects: I have someone who cleans, someone who cooks, a chauffeur, a gardener, a masseuses  :whist:  It is what it is.  Building the helipad as we speak  ;) but Archie  :o oh Plleeesss ........

Hopefully none of the royals in my life time will carry the name 'Diana'.  That wedding was arranged the day that she was born ;-).

my niece has a Harrison.   Someone commented on Twitter that Archie Harrison sounds like something off TOWIE.
