Ladies, I am having such a bother finding some nice knee length shorts without paying heaps. I waited for sales, but alas too late. Do any of you have any ideas?
-
My sister bought a nice pair of cotton trousers from Asda and then cut them to the length she wanted.
For around the house and garden I get old jeans and chop.
Have you looked at M&Co. I got a nice pair in the sales. Have a look online.

Thanks for that HB. I did consider chopping pair of trousers down to size. I'd ordered a pair of shorts from a climbing shop. Well you should have seen them! Talk about baggy! Hubby could have put them on and there would still have been legroom to spare. They wouldn't have fitted him round his middle though. ;D So they are going back tomorrow. Linen ones are all just as baggy. Think I may have to give up and buy early next year. Sods law it'll be back to usual summer weather in 2014!

Thanks for this thread CG.
I desperately need to get some new shorts, as I can't get into any of my old ones :'(
Despite exercising most days ???
-
I got some from Matalan, £10. Knee length.
-
Shorts are in short supply - apparently :P
-
Have bought a pair of lightweight trousers from stressco and will cut to required length. At least that way I can get the length I want. ;)
-
Good solution :)
I have a couple of pairs left over from previous years that didnt get much of an outing til now!
-
Legs chopped, hems turned up by hand and sun has vanished! :-\
-
I bought some Capri trousers yesterday from Sai***urys, they are quite nice.
Couldn't find any proper shorts though, all to short/tight or long/baggy.

Cotton Traders? I have at least got into a skirt since it became hotter, shorts :-X
-
Totally forgot about Cotton Traders. Thanks for reminding me CLKD.
Never heard of orvis. A tad expensive though. But thanks for suggesting it silverlady.
-
Orvis do all types of 'wear'. Particularly for the riding set .......... I see their Stands are Shows. M&Co. Charity shops .......
-
My bargain for this summer was a brand new (with tags) pair of black/white small check shorts for £3 from a charity shop. They fit perfectly and I've worn them loads. The make is Emreco and they are very well made and finished.
-
Do you wear them much? I think of shorts as PE kit :-X
-
Oh CLKD. You do make me
;D
When was the last time you bought shorts.

Do you remember thick school knickers >:( ???
-
Yes and I refused to wear them.
For P.E we wore navy knickers with a white stripe down the sides and also a very short pleated navy skirt. I really liked my P.E kit.

Hated navy school knickers. At primary we had to do gym in them. Can you imagine getting away with that nowadays. Boys got to wear shorts! I remember in p7 one boy forgot his gym shorts and teacher made him take part in his pants. He was mortified and I remember feeling ever so sorry for him.
-
It happened in our schools too - green for Primary, Navy for Sec Mod.............
Saw lots of people in shorts today, they will have sore legs by this evening ::)
