When I first started on HRT I was given 6 months worth once they knew I was okay, but, although my health is fine, the last 4 prescriptions have only allowed for 3 months. This is from a different doctor than previously, althought at the same surgery and my first prescription was from a doctor who specialised in menopause. My present doc says I am only allowed 3 months at a time, which seem ridiculous, as it costs me 15 pound each prescription, and i have to see a doctor every 3 months. Why is this, what is the maximum they can prescribe, as I dont understand what changed. Any ideas :-\

It became a recent change in prescribing I think :-\
How about a 12 month pre-paid script? I have one, it saves in the long run .........

what is a 12month pre paid script?

It costs about £100, for 12months, you can get as many prescriptions as you want in the 12 month period. You need to wrk out what your normal spend is in a year and you may save money.
You can apply on line, my hubby had one till he turned 60, now he is free!
I think I have already written this in another posting!!!
Google it and its easy to find, or ask in your pharmacy

on hrt alone, I spend £60 per year on hrt at 3 monthly prescriptions, but obviously that is not including any other prescriptions, does it cover two peeps, or dental prescriptions as well as docs do you know?
I was also thinking of going to ask menopause clinic in Poole about it.

It is for one person only, no doesn't cover dental. If all you spend is £60 a year then it's not worth it, you need to spend about £100
