Title: Just checking in :)
Post by: angelindskiexx on July 08, 2013, 02:36:55 PM
Hi guys,
Just checking in with you all and hoping that you're all doing good.
Just a quick update - haven't had a proper period since Nov 2nd so it's been 8 months.
I am grateful for that since when I have a period it is extremely heavy.
I'm not getting anything close to that now so that makes me happy.
I'm not out of the woods yet and I do realize I'm still in perimenopause
I had a very bad flu 4 weeks ago which has really set me back a bit - I'm still feeling pretty crappy.
I still feel the hormones fluctuating now and then (sore breasts, anxiety, clumsiness, headaches,  tummy pain) t
The two main things which currently bother me is poor sleep and depression.
Wish I could go back to the time before menopause.
I was so different then.
God bless you all.
Jess x

That's a sentiment which rings true - not sure we appreciate our 'pre meno' selves enough at the time. Keep hanging in there, good days and bad eh - no doubt your poor sleeping is adding to your low mood, is there something you could get from the GP to help? I'm on an SSRI now - Sertraline - and although it has taken about 5 weeks, I am starting to feel the benefit of it (mine is anxiety rather than depression). They are not for everyone but seem to be helping me and I'm not complaining about that  8)
