Hello ladies. Can anyone help me? Stopped Elleste Duet about 6 weeks as my hair was falling out started Femoston 7 days ago. Noticed probably couple of weeks ago my boobs have shrunk at least a cup size. I have lost a bit of weight generally. Does anyone think its connected to the male hormone not very good with which hormones are which! - one made my hair fall out that are in Elleste. Or could it just be the weight loss & going to gym? Just seems quite a drastic change.
xx

Not sure. Although friends told me my boobs would shrink when I lost weight. Nearly 2 stone lighter and boobs remain the same. Only back size has shrunk. :-\
-
Thanks Stellajane. I thought it probably was due to the Elleste. Silly question but do you think my boobs will get back to their original size now Im off Elleste? I feel quite angry at my GP for prescribing it & not explaining the major changes that I could & did face! X
-
Are you sure that it is the HRT which has caused the shrinkage Catfreak? Some women lose breast size and some gain during menopause as part of the natural process. I don't think that Stellajane is saying the Elleste caused your breasts to shrink but, rather, that it caused your hairloss? It could just be that you have reached a stage where your breasts are naturally shrinking. Some women gain bust inches when they start HRT due to the oestrogen I believe - sadly I wasn't one of them!!

back in the day when I COULD lose weight if I dieted, (grrr!! can't lose weight now for some reason LOL) my boobs always shrunk. If you think about it, they are made up of a lot of fatty tissue along with the glandular stuff.
Maybe its because you've done well on your diet? :)
-
Me too Clovie, I once went down 3 cup sizes after losing a lot of weight :o
-
Not sure. Im not on a diet. But have been going to the gym but the weight loss from my boobs is completely out of proportion to the weight loss/toning on my tummy. I looked up testosterone and there is some info that says to higher dose can cause breasts to shrink. It gives you male traits - hair loss/hoarse voice/reduction of breasts etc!
I just hope it if was Elleste that now Im off them my boobs will regain some of the size they were before - they werent big before 34C but now they be struggling to be a 34A/B!
Thanks. xxx

Are you taking testosterone Catfreak?

I have had small boobs all my life. I hated it when I was younger but boy has it had its advantages since I have got older.
They are about the only thing that has not sagged or dropped. Apart from my feet they are about the only thing that's left that I actually like about my body.
For "small" things I should be grateful.

I used to have teeny weeny boobs until hysterectomy. They just got bigger & bigger & ........ ;D
Mind you so did my mums. But that was back in the days of C cups being the largest you could buy and you just had to get bigger back size.
-
Taz Im not taking testosterone itself only what was in Elleste Duet. Im so confused. With what hormone is in what HRT! I feel rubbish & anxious about stuff anyway so what what with my hair loss & now my boobs its all I need. Its comforting to know you girlies are here xx

It can get really confusing as to whats in what. You can find out what's in Elleste Duet from this link http://www.medicines.org.uk/emc/medicine/20963/SPC It contains oestrogen and progesterone. Shrinking boobs are, unfortunately, a symptom of getting older and menopause. Even if they don't actually shrink they do lose tissue as the milk producing part disappears and become less dense which is really weird when it first starts to happen. I'm not sure how old you are though?

Hope mine don't shrink only 36A now :( (just)
-
Be glad rosebush for your dainty 36 barely As, I paid a lot for mine :) Big ones maybe OK in our youth, but a huge weight causing lots of problems when we get older.
-
Heavens Cubagirl - when were the days when they only went up to C cup?? I know that bigger sizes werent readily available in the shops as they are now but I can remember my mum in the early seventies ordering her berlei specials from the local shop. They were a lot bigger than C cup. And the Triumph Doreen seems to have been around forever.
As for my incredible shrinking/increasing boobs, as I say I used to be a D, then I dieted down to a stupid weight (well, it was an eating disorder to be honest) and had a pair of B cups that were just empty sacks of skin. Put weight back on and gradually crept up to C, D, DD and yesterday I went to buy a new bra and had to get an E cup >:(. I swear Debenham's bras are getting smaller, I cannot be an E. I dont even look big, I'm not overweight. What on earth is going on?
-
Silverlady - are you saying you paid for your A cups? I always wished I was smaller when i was younger. I am pretty happy with what I have now though as they havent gone south yet....
-
My breasts increased after my hysterectomy and became far to full for my small frame so I had them reduced to a small light very perky A cup. Quite the best thing I did.
Trouble is now I have problems finding A cup non padded bras, because now shops are now selling larger bras.
Luckily I stocked up in 2007 when I had the op and have a draw full of bras not worn yet so I don't need to, its just its a known thing that when ladies have a breast reduction they buy, buy, buy, pretty dainty bras just because they can even when they do have drawers full ::)
-
M&S Milliemoo in the 70's she refused to wear anybody else's. When they eventually started selling D cups, she was most indignant when told she needed a D! ;D
I was 36G before losing weight, now 34GG. :-\
-
oh goodness me no, M&S were no good to my mum!! It was Berlei only, cost a fortune and as I say she had to order in her size.
Silverlady I would do the same, stock up on pretty bras. You're right, there are huge bras in the shops these days. They had J cups in Debenhams. My mum would ve been in here element :-\
-
I am one whose boobs were always small and now am mortified to say they have shrunk down more along with other lady bits! Does nothing for self-esteem. You can buy some nice stretchy bras with optional pads to fit in I have seen them at Sainsburys and Avon and they do nice selection of colours.

Women pay a lot to have their "lady bits" tidied up - if only they knew that, eventually, nature would do it for nothing!!

Guess my low dose oestrogen is helping to keep me plump! ::)
-
Hmm - I wonder if it's a getting older thing with or without oestrogen. Can't remember how old you are CG - I am 59 and on Femseven Sequi and there is defiinitely a shrinking and neatening going on!
Taz x :D
-
Wish my thighs would shrink and neaten.....
What's the chances.

You and me Honeyb.
Its said that estrogen is stored in the thighs too, and I don't want to forget about the estrogen stored below my belly button ::)
-
57 Taz. Not had any complaints. ::) ;)
-
Those two years make all the difference..... ;D However, I don't think you would get any complaints either way - it still works so what's to complain about :D although younger men seem to like the "uncluttered" look.

-
Well I've pretty much always had the uncluttered look due to the LS (if indeed that is what it is, some disagreement among the professionals there) so I hope to goodness no more shrinking or neatening occurs.

Oh Cat Freak, I was so pleased to see your post, I was having probs with Elleste Duet conti 2mg and 3 months ago went to docs to say something had to give, either more and stronger of the same cuz mine wasn't working as well as it did, or maybe it was too strong now so I needed less, or if all else failed ...Prozac... It turned out I was on the strongest going, so it was suggested I wean off at 1 pill every other day... upshot was I felt even worse, so stupidly decided to stop all together. What a mistake, megga! Then I realised I was losing weight.. and my hair was falling out, (so got it cut very short again after trying to grow it,) then the panic set in again worrying that I was dying, had cancer, god knows what else, Having just read your post and all the replies I realise when I went on the pills I put weight on, having stopped them it was falling off... but I've been feeling so awful that I phoned the surgery last friday to ask the receptionist to plead my case for me (I'm a coward) and let me go back to one a day.... mercifully the doc agreed. I'm just starting to feel a wee bit better, and if a few pounds creep back, so be it (i'm not obese) I'm sorry to hear it didn't suit you, but for me although I didn't realise until I had none, it was actually doing me good.
-
younger men seem to like the "uncluttered" look.
;D Well mind's older, but he always claims everyone thinks he looks so much younger. Does that count? ;D
-
Have you asked him - cluttered or uncluttered? ;D
-
I know years ago he preferred me bald, found it very sexy. ;D. So guess uncluttered. If I was to ask, he'd laugh. Doesn't much care these days. ::)
-
I have the opposite problem......put a wee bit of weight on and boobs huge ;) OH is very happy but I wont let him touch ;D ;D
-
It seems that what puberty gives the menopause can take away, like a reversal, no wonder nobody tells you about it!
Meg
-
That's the way it is - puberty brings in the hormones and then the menopause takes them away again. It's like the rest of life in that we probably don't really appreciate what we have until it disappears!
