Title: low blood sugar and menopause
Post by: Meg on June 27, 2013, 12:59:59 AM
Does anyone know if there is a connection between oestrogen and the control of blood sugar levels.  It seems that some of the symptoms of low blood sugar are similar to some of the menopausal symptoms that many of us experience and I wondered if the drop in hormones at menopause can mean that some women do not control their blood sugar levels as well?

Yep.  When I had regular periods I would feel suddenly very very sick ...... in fact I had to dash into a Pharmacy on one occasion and ask for their loo  :o  .......... this happened within the 10 days before a bleed.  So it is hormone related.  I was advised by NAPS to eat every 3 hours THROUGHOUT the 28 days ...... every day and night!
