87 today :tulips2: (which means Mum will be 87 in November)
I wonder if Her Majesty has time to watch the Maraton, either on TV or from her windows, or both?
-
My son shares his birthday with the Queen as well :) To the point that when he was younger we used to give him two like she has - so he could have parties in the garden with friends in the summer when he was younger.
-
Being in Dec. I would LOVE a Summer birthday ..........
-
me too CLKD! I hate my Birthday being so close to Christmas and would love to celebrate outside and have gifts for the garden like plants. No one thinks of garden gifts in winter! My Sisters have spring birthdays and always have lovely bedding plants bought for them!
-
wow, is she really 87? Shes incredible isn't she? :)
-
I often wonder how she managed when she had to eat at all those events :o and meet and greet people she didn't know and what happened when she went through 'our' time of Life :-\ - or do the Royals have people who do all that for them ;D
-
oh yes, I should imagine One probably does ;D
-
One's Husband looks well for 92 !
-
Is it any wonder that she is as good. If she sneezes the wrong way there will be a doctor at her side.
She has lived a life of extreme comfort and privilege. No school runs or broken nights for her. No trying to make a penny stretch and worry about a mortgage.
No having to chance picking up a hospital infection.
If you can't look good after being pampered for your whole life then it's a poor show.
Happy Birthday Madge....I am sure she will have more to come.
Poor Charles can keep talking to his plants for a while yet.

;D - I enjoyed Prince Charles' programme about art through the Royal Family .........
-
He is another one that could have done with a proper job.
His sons put him to shame.....at least they are contributing something.
Now let me think of something he does that is invaluable.....um nope it's not coming to me yet.

He represents the Queen on various over-seas tours ;) ....... I was going to marry him when I was 6 ;D ...........
-
I doubt he even knows how to put toothpaste on a brush.
He is about as much use as a chocolate tea pot.
Sorry you missed your chance CLKD......maybe you could have knocked him into shape.

Think William & Harry are more grounded, much like Zara.
-
I think he is more grounded than we give him credit for ;) ........ the closest I got to Charles was standing outside Windsor Castle ...... when he and his sister had measles :o ............ ::)
-
I have shaken his hand.......not quite sure why I stuck my hand out but there you go......One does the strangest things.
Don't actually think he is the sharpest tool in the box. I did not dislike him until his treatment of Diana came out.
Shocking behaviour.

Diana was no :-X >:( sorry : but she courted the media then complained when they 'chased' her ::). Sadly that marriage was arranged from her cradle ......... and is now history. He does seem happier with Camilla and much more relaxed. Like any child it is often difficult to go against the wishes of the parents :'(
-
Sorry CLKD....I could not disagree more. I am not a Diana fan but...
She was 19 and starry eyed.....He was 32 and already had a mistress. If I had been her I would have killed him. He treated her like s""t. She took the limelight away from him and being an insecure wimp he resented her.
She was a lovely girl who gave him two lovely boys. If he had been honest and caring then all the mess that happened could have been avoided.
If he had treated her right it would be a different royal family today.

Diana was aware of Camilla - history is and history will be, the Royals have always had mistresses ;) .........
-
It was a very tragic situation for both of them I think and they should never have been married in the first place.
I do feel pretty sorry for the Royals. Yes, they have a very pampered luxury lifestyle, but everything they do is in the public eye and that can't be easy.
