Title: pmt after a year

Hi has anyone had this.? I am 51 not on hrt. My last period was a year ago almost to the day. I have had every menpause symptom known to women over this yesr on and off but not altogether thank god! No symptoms at all last two months no hot flushes achy legs nothing. This last couple of days I swear I could be getting a period. Pmt bloating itchy boob which was always a sign in the past a little light brown discharge once today I have had all day the old migraine I always got on my first day of a period. What is going on!

Hi moudies - from what you describe it sounds as if you indeed do have a period on the way! It is common for hot flushes and other meno symptoms to disappear when a period is brewing due to your higher level of hormones I suppose. The fact that you have all the normal symptoms does suggest that it is just a hormonal blip. The guidelines are that if you have gone over a year without a period then any bleeding has to be reported to your GP. It's so annoying when you think that everything's finished only to start periods again. Hopefully this will be a one off but you may find that if this period is a "proper" one then you could have a few more.

Thanks for that I reckon you could be right. Its all good fun isnt it. I have been lucky I havent suffered as bad as some of the ladies on here. I hope this does not out me back to square one and it all starts over again!

If it's a proper period you will have to start counting again which is a pain. Let us know how you get on!

Hi again Taz
a quick update, sorry if this is too much information!! I had about half a tsp of browny/reddy stuff yesterday (you know the sort of thing you normally get at the end of a period. Then dry as a bone (literally ha ha) half a tsp today of light brown/yellow maybe that is it (hope so). Yeah that is the most annoying thing, you get to a year and think wey hey I'm done and it could all be a ruse and I have to start counting all over again. Thanks for the interest and advice!
