Hi everyone, Hope all having good sunday ? am not !
Wonder if anyone else has had funny feelings down in the nether regions like you hav`ent been for wee for ages and just been ! , also vagina feels funny not really unpleasant !
put my 25 vagifem in on friday , so wonder if it is connected, keeping thinking bout it all time really
does`nt help girls does it ?
oh well now off to church service for people who lost someone recently , ( my mum 2 yrs ago )
it lovely service really but usually cry

my condolences to you lindyloo 2 years is not long at all. When your mother dies your whole world changes shape and it takes a long time learning to adjust to the new shape, if at all. Be gentle with yourself and do not expect too much.

Yes me the last wreek or 2 after being on Vagiufem for nearly 3 years its acting up
Feel like i want to wee even though just gone and yest waters clear pressure over pubic bone
General soreness at opneing of vgaina and very dry?????????

Hi lindyloo hope the church service went well yesterday, please accept my condolences.
I get the feeling of needing a wee just after going but it wears off after a little while. The only time it is constant is if I have cystitis :(. Hope you're feeling a bit better today.

the feeling of needing a wee after going can be due to dryness in the urethra and the urine stings, then it wears off after a little while. Vaginal oestrogen can help take this away, i did not realise low oestrogen affects the urethra too until the nurse told me.

The kneck of the bladder the bit that holds everything up and in
Needs hormones to work take those away or reduce them and the kneck of the bladder reacts
You want to wee more cos its loose cant hold it in it weakens it
Use Vagifem or other HRT internal creams and it can dramticaly help as long as no prolapse xxx

so sorry to hear about your mum, 2 years is nothing. My mum died 6 years ago this christmas and I still sometimes forget and think of something I want to tell her then realise I cant.
The feeling you describe is one I had for months before I went back onto citalopram - anti depressant. I now use vagifem and ovestin to deal with it but according to my GP there is an anti-depressant that is actually used to rid you of this problem if it is severe.
i would try ovestin first, applying it to the area around the urethra.
Good luck, it's one of the most irritating and upsetting conditions as you can never forget about it :(

Milliemoo are you still taking citalopram or is the vagifem and ovestin working for you now? I ask because I have had bladder pain for months even with using vagifem 25 and last week gp gave me amitriptyline (antidepressant) for the pain and has referred me to a gynaecologist. I was wondering if in time I won't need it although it hasn't helped at all yet but I expect it will take time to take effect.

oh that's interesting Katy because it wasnt amytriptyline. I will try to google it and find out.
yes I am on citalopram still but I am reducing dosage as I would like to try to get off it if possible. I've tried many times but always end up back on it.
Has your GP not given you Ovestin cream to apply around the urethra? I think that might be a good place to start.

I do have some ovestin that I've been putting on urethra but gp had a look and said I look very well estrogenised :o so she wants to check for other things that might be wrong - did mention vulvadynia - hope it's not that.

just googled and found all sorts!
I also found some complaints from women saying that citalopram GAVE them this very problem :(
If it were me I would return to GP and request Ovestin, or actually I would maybe telephone them to save time on both sides. Of course you have to be really subtle when suggesting treatment so some GPs. Best of luck.

Hope the citalopram doesn't give you those symptoms!
Have an appointment with gp next week so will have a chat with her then and hope the amitriptyline kicks before then.

Oh thanks girls ! SO good to know am not alone in wanting wees all the time, crazy to think I was fine in that department in june ! just very dry an sore vagina , will keep on with vagifem an hope !
friend of mine who is a nurse puts aqaeous ( sorry spelling !) on her "bits" trying that now wot a game !

I can vouch for aqueous cream as i started using this a few weeks ago. Normally at this time of year i have already used 2 tubes of E45 Itch Relief but i have not had one episode of itching anywhere and my normally dry skin is not dry or flaky :)

Hi ladies, I was just prescribed this on thursday aswell as citalapram for my mood swings. I used the pessary once and next day i couldnt control my bowels very well. is this related?
Yesterday I had sore bits and today its even worse, ive had this on and off for a long time and its draining the life out of me.
Would appreciate any advice...Im desperate x

Yes stick with it and manage any strange effects for the 2 weeks you use it every day. Once you are on the twice weekely maintenance things will settle down and you will be so glad you did. I had some funny effects but the VA was worse than the effects and after 3 weeks i was all right that was 2 years ago and now i wouldn't think anything was wrong unless i forget a dose ouch!

even wth Vagifem and its been 3 years next February always aware of my Vagina
18mnths of solid pain does that and the damage was so severe Even Vagifem waxes and wanes
Ive just had over 2 weeks where its not worked well at all Then Sunday is righted itself again but never like it was
My life is still ruled some what by Atrophy even sex which is 100000% better but still nto pain free
The first year on Vagifem was wonderful the seond less so the 3rd now Ive had a lot of blips lasting 2 to 15 days
\Its not cure and the klonger your on it the less it works the body must adjust Im on 3x7 from this week 25 as well!
As for loose bowels I ve had that from day 1 it does ease and you do get weeks where nothing then its back hey ho xx

Ive said before but a potted version mine started with a simple itch id been gardening and thought id been bitten
For a week or so i scratched my fanny it wasnt that bad but defo itchy and then it just went nevr thought anymore
Id been on Ovestin and mini pill for 10 yrs in place of HRT I had Ovarian failure at 36 then they called it early meno
Theyd never allow it to happen now but this was late 80s early 90s and HRT was going through a bad time
Ovestin failed almost overnight it came out the next day as it went in like a blob my body just stopped absorbing it
IN the May started getting pains in my fanny like the worst Cystiss ever 26 times one day but not in the night at all
It lasted for a month no infection but still put on anits again it went this was 2008 in September came back that was it
Every waking moment sucking aching deep in my fanny burning when I peed so id fall forward cos if it hit my glands!!!!
Pain terrible I stopped going for a pee I was scared hurt so much I was red raw Water killed me so hardly washed
Vaginal area and bottom the skin would shed little white flakes like bits of toilet paer thats what I thought they were
again and again 3 months of Monistat 3 months of Nystatin 3 months of antibiotics never ending pills did nothing for me
All the while this constant ache burn swollen Vaginal glands never ending throb like a suction sex I did it but it hurt
I hid it from Bobbles he knew about other pain he kept saying it was stress I felt he didnt fancy me cos of my fanny
Then I noticed my Vaginal area was thin and sunken my outer mons right under towards the bottom all fpale and limp
Then the biggest scare my inner labias started to shrivel get brown dots on the edges and a feeling of nibbling
They got smaller my hood which had been a source of shame for me it was so huge an outie I noticed wasnt visable
You couldnt see it standing there with no knickers on I realised that was shrinking or retracting I was beside myself
Every day it was the same and if I did get an odd OK day I was so scared all the time it would come back
So I couldnt enjoy the day free of pain and the enterence to my Vagina got tighter and sore when i sat down too long
I found this site and it still took me 6mnths to go to GP who took one look said Atrophy but the damage was done
2 years from when it started I got vagifem it took 1 pill to get rid of the suction feeling with in 2 weeks I felt wonderful
It took a few months for the weeing to go and for me to trust it
Feb 2010 dreadful in September I was in Rome Vence paris and UK making pain free love but its not a cure theres none
Since Sunday the blips eased and Im more or less OK again but Ive put an extra Vagifem in tonight and Ive asked for Ovestin from my GP to rub uotside my shrivelling had stopped but in the last week ive seen my genitalia shrinking again
SOOOOOOO dont do as I did the reaon I finally gave in THIS SITE if not for this site id still be in pain or worse???????
