Title: Memory loss
Post by: CLKD on June 26, 2012, 02:31:17 PM
::)  does anyone else need to read the 1st entry of a thread each time before they reply, in particular I find that if there are more than 2  pages I have to read through in order to formulate what I want to say  :-\

When reading a book, I often have to go back a couple of pages to refresh my memory even if I have been reading it the night before. ::)
Also sometimes I can remember my mobile number and sometimes I can't. Grrrrr

Oh that happened about 6 weeks ago, every day for 6/7 years I've gone into a house and operated the alarm, this particular evening I could NOT remember ........ got it stopped so that it didn't ring, tried every combination on the way out and it went berserk!  Had to go to the neighbour who could give me the code - but it's only this last week that the code has become automatic again  :-\

I'm in real trouble  :'( - I have mis-placed some important documents that are needed to sell the house.  I have no recall.  I know the Certificates were on the window sill for 3 weeks then I moved them .......... can't remember where  :'(.  My head is now filled of where I have put them.

Yep.  It's annoying as we have stuff around ....... boxes of tourist brochures that I will probably never look at  :-\ - but important issues -  note to self - get rid of stuff ?

I think its considerate of you to read back and think about what you are going to say.

Rosie - you were right  :thankyou: :foryou:

At 11.30 p.m., I moved a very large Teddy bear and there was the paper work - in an envelope so I was looking for the wrong thing anyway  ::).  PHEW!  Now in a safe[r] place.

My head feels clearer today.

So glad you've found your paperwork - getting stressed doesn't help you remember, but it's so hard not to when something important goes astray!

I have a VIP box where I keep Very Important Paperwork - vehicle reg documents, NHS card, will, certificates, savings account passbooks - anything that would cause major complications if it were mislaid.  I've found that really helpful, and I'm now pretty good at remembering to put stuff straight back in the box if I take it out for any reason.

I'm also doing a steady de-clutter of the house, as I'm finding that the less 'stuff' I have, the easier it is for me to keep on top of things.  I'm finding box files work better for me than ringbinders for stuff I need to keep, as I just have to open the box and chuck it in, instead of finding a hole punch and pulling the rings apart on a binder.  Doesn't sound much extra work, but it's amazing how stuff that needs to be hole-punched takes so much longer to be tidied away!

I have boxes everywhere plus a 4 drawer filing cabinet ...... I lack recall when I've done anything, not a recent problem ........

I have 3 boxes on our lounge floor that I brought from Mum's property 12 months ago not yet tackled as I would then have to make decisions  :-\
