We are a year behind you, august 1976
We are pretty close to you - we started "associating" in September 1976
There's a lot of it about ;D
-
Our 1st day was 5 years before - 25 Feb. 1970 :-*
-
Our "courtship" ;D was quick but we were friends before.
I was the manageress of the canteen of the factory that hubby came to work in. I was one of the first people he met when he came to Scotland. We got on really well and I used to give him extras when he came in for his lunch. I was fed up with catering and decided to apply for work in his dept. He interviewed me and turned me down for the job ;D.
I left to do something else and eventually we met up, got together and 12 months later we got married.
They say the way to a man's heart is through his stomach. I can vouch for that ::)

CLKD we met at school aged just 12 in 1969 but didn't 'go out' until March 1970. Looking back it was quite a childlike romance and finished when he left school and I stayed on. We had 18 months apart during which time I dated others including his best friend. Through him we met up again and I dumped his friend and we got back together aged 17, engaged at 18, married at 19, 38 years ago and yes, they all said it wouldn't last :)

You are welcome!

It's lovely to read how others met.
My son told me not that long ago that he did tell quite a lot of people just how long his mum and dad had been married. He says it's so unusual and most of his friends have divorced parents. A lot of us must have great staying power ;D

I can remember our daughter coming home from school one day and asking us why we were still together. Apparently there was not one other boy or girl in her friendship group who had parents together. I remember feeling so very sad.
Now she is a teacher and there are still not many children in her class each year that don't have a broken family.

Better the Devil I know than ;D
Step-family thread perhaps?

Aww, I hope it settles soon.
