For me it's my eyes,I've always had lovely expressive eyes (as in come to bed eyes apparently ;D) anyway since a few things have happened my eyes are so tired and scabby looking, the dry eye syndrome is a pain in the butt,I spend a fortune buying so called remedies,I've been to eye consultant at hospital had brain scans done yet they can't tell me what's wrong.i just want my happy eyes back I hate looking through a smokey haze every day and god do I detest these glasses.whats your biggest body grumble?? Xx
-
An irritating clearing of throat since a cough/cold in Feb..
Also the deep itching in the ears :-\
-
Take a spoon of organic cocoanut oil for your throat and rub a smidgeon in your ears it's gross but good x
-
I prefer to drink the coconut ........... ;D. :-\ isn't it sticky ?
-
Daisydot, like you, I've always been complemented on my eyes. I can identify with some of the dryness that you mention and the effect this can have on the general look of them. One of the things I find greatly helps with the general appearance is an eye-and-lip cream patted very lightly around the eye area, slightly pressing into the skin at the inner and outer corners.
I also wear contacts, as I don't want to hide my eyes behind frames! ;) Would these be an option for you? The new solution I have is a naturally-lubricating one, which so far hasn't brought on any dryness.

Hi everyone
My thighs!
Hate em now.
They used to be shapely and firm, now they just wobble.
Also the tops of my arms.
In a certain light I can see the wrinkles on them and I hate it.
They too were shapely,
God I hate getting older. ;D
Jdx
-
Ladies,
I hate the fact my waist has disappeared, I seem to have acquired a rubber ring around there...and my arms...never liked my upper arms but now they're flying in the wind, and it doesn't matter how much exercise I do.
Backsides always been ‘generous' but now seems to be on a landslide, thighs a no no.
Really I should have been born in Victorian times as the only thing going for me is my ankles :-*
-
Hi dulciana funny enough I was talking about trying contacts as there's so many new ones now that dry eye doesn't have to be an issue with using them,I have another app next month with eye consultant at the hospital,he's so cute I'm not kidding lol,so I'll have a chat with him and see what he thinks.my mum was registered blind and I'm so scared with eye issues.
Jd I forget this growing old gracefully lark,I'm an ex hairdresser and I use every trick in the book to keep that “teen†look
-
Kernow time to make use of those handcuffs then
-
Never really had a backside to talk about. Lol
Now what I do have seems to be getting lower and lower.
And flatter,!
Love to have a Kim Kardashian's bum.
Well, not quite that big.
Jdx
-
Jillydoll,
Surely that's shelf on her backside isn't it?x
Daisydot,
You're bad...so bad ;D
-
:rofl:No gross like a camels hump that's dropped
-
CLKD no it's not sticky don't worry it's really pleasant x
-
Most bits at the moment to be honest😂
-
Wait till you get that Greek tan you'll be unbearable 😂
-
I hate my wrinkly neck! If I just pull the skin back slightly either side I look young again! .................
Yup, I'm beginning to identify with that! Scarves help.............. ;)
-
Oh yessss snooze, my wrinkly neck!
Forgot that one.
Just had my hair cut short as well which makes it look all the more worse.
It does to me anyway.
Had to have it cut, it seems thinner on the left side and the only way to get that even look
was to keep having it permed. I love curly hair, and have always had perms.
Thinking about it, it was probably them that have made it thinner. I don't know.
But I thought I'd have it graduated at the back but a bit fuller on top and have the thin
sides cut off so that you can see my earrings.
Not sure I'm completely happy with it at the moment, maybe I'll go slightly shorter.
I've always had hair that has to be blow dryer in the mornings, all my life
I have hair that just looks like a mop in the mornings, can't just brush it n go,
My god I look like a monster!, lol
-
I've got this scary picture of you in my head now jd but it's the giant bum and mop for a head that's most disturbing :rofl:don't tell me any more lol.
-
Daisydot.
Lol that's exactly what I look like..
How did you know. You got a photo of me?
Lmao..
God what a picture.
-
And a fine figure of a woman you JD :drunklaf:
-
Oh my god
I can't stop laughing.
You girls really take my mind off things.
It's good to Laff.
Jd x
-
Now kernow has jumped in with her pink furry handcuffs around her Victorian ankles  my mind can't take much more of this I'll be scarred for life now lol.
-
Maybe were long lost sisters..
:cancan:
You can be our sister too daisydot.
:hapij:
-
Are you casting aspersions on my pink furry ones Daisydot... ::)
What a fine pair we make JD...a mop head with endowed derrière and moi with enhanced pink furry ankles......it's a match!
And then there's Daisydot ...we're waiting for your big reveal!!! :veil:
-

We,d all make a fortune on tv nowadays.
You know like a fly on the wall thingie.
We just need to name ourselves something.
Meno sisters?
Can come up with something better than that .
Any ideas.?
:clapping:
-
How about
“The flushettersâ€
:veil: :veil: :veil:
-
“Hot chicks†does it for me 👵👵👵😂
-
Daisydot....that sounds a bit like we're toilet attendants ::)
What do you think JD?
Trouble is I've got nothing of any substance to offer name wise..... :-[
-
That wasn't me that was jd I'm the hot chicks that's an apt description in more ways than a ne
-
Yeah kernow, and daisydot..
Think we'll go back to our own lives.
Fame n fortune doesn't seem to suit me.
Oh well, maybe in another life....
It was good while it lasted.
Jd x.
I'll go n have another piece cake then.. ::).
-
I'm really hating my eyes today they were so sore looking doc just said well you have your follow up with consultant next month, looks like scabby eyes for my holidays again fed up now with it.x
-
My bloke has dry eyes.
Doc gave drops for them but they're not much good.
Drive him mad sometimes.
Eye doc told him to rub baby shampoo on them.
He never has. X
-
Not something I fancy doing either that'd sting.hot heat pads do help but only temporary.its costing me a fortune in remedies that don't work.x
-
Shades Daisydot...cool shades....hide a million problems.....
(I'm talking sunglasses not Venetians) 8)
-
You know kernow I always wear shades ,especially driving,as I'm very light sensitive now and I bought these cracking Michael Kors ones they are so sexy looking then I take them off to scabby looking eyes 😂
-
Keep them on!
Re: scabby eyes, seriously, although they're a nightmare for you I doubt others notice them...
X
-
I'm hoping this consultant comes up with something next month I'm genuinely ticked off and embarrassed by them now.xx
-
My pale skin but should hopefully have some colour by the end of the week.
Lanzalover x
-
My eyes too. Just had to buy an electric lady shaver as I can't wear my glasses in the shower and I keep missing bits. Oh the joy of getting older.
-
Ahhh Shadyglade...what an image...hope it's not electric :-*
And Daisydot keep us informed how you get on..fingers crossed the Consultant has some answers X
-
My eyes itch more today
Deep in the ears with intermittent tinnitus or I can feel the vein throbbing
Hairy legs are kept under wraps unless it's been very very hot for over 3 weeks ;D
However: having been through depression and anxiety in the 1980s/90s then breast disease in the mid-1990s, I actually don't care how I look. It can be solved by wearing floaty dresses or good fitting jeans etc. ;-)
-
Consultants very cute but bloody useless lol.tonight I'm prepping my feet for sandals time,I love the hot sun at my feet and legs so fingers crossed I get the chance to wear them soon.
Meantime I will definately be keeping the shades on lol.
-
Lanzo - R U there long enough to top up your tan ;-)
I get my toe nails painted tomorrow, I expect she will ask if I want the hairs pulled off my toes :o
-
Ooh, doesn't bear thinking about. I used to have one of those things that pulled the hair out. Looked like a shaver but wasn't.
I cried every time I used it. Never again.
-
Ouch that's a definately no no,I'm so lucky being quite hairless and fair,I've never ever shaved my legs there's nothing there,my mum was hairless too yet we have good head hair lol.only thing is I've no blooming eyebrows or eyelashes while my grandchildren all have cow eyelashes,it's not fair 😁
-
Hi everyone.
I'm fair too and I'm quite hairy. Hairy legs, arms, but because they're
Fair it don't bother me.
As for eyebrows, haven't had any of those much for decades, after over plucking
Them and shaving them all off to be the same as David Bowie back when I was very young!
Lol.. I hated them that much I had to get them tattooed on.(well, it's semi-permanent)
Much better now.....lol
Jd x
-
Did that hurt and did you get dark or fair ones done,I look so ridiculous with eyebrows I'm not joking,I use a colouring wand sometimes it's like small hair particles it adds in but if I just go that tiny bit too far with it I look horrible.
-
Perhaps you could stick the hair you've removed from other areas onto your eyebrows JD
Eyebrows are quite the thing now aren't they...I bought some stuff that you just brush on to make them grow and it has helped a lot.
Not keen on the overly strong eyebrow.... ::)
-
Hi daisydot.
No it doesn't hurt, she put some numbing cream on first, then does the tattoo.
Fair ones. Like a sandy shade. So not too bold.
Hi kernow.
Well, I did try that once but started to look like Boris Johnson..so I had to stop.
No, they're not bold, I ent got the confidence for that..
Jd x
-
No I'll pass even the numbing cream would hurt me 😂 I'll stick to shading them in occasionally I think I'm too 🐔😆
-
I've been rubbing my eyes and sneezing this week but I know it's hay fever, it's a beautiful day here today and I've been out weeding so the panda look will appear this evening after I smudge my mascara rubbing my eyes ;D
-
I think that's another thing that's annoyed me I haven't been able to wear any liner or mascara since before Xmas and even sticking rigidly to that my eyes still look red and scabby.x
-
Have you tried blephasol Daisydot? I use it to clean the skin around my eyes. My pharmacist recommended it to me as I'm struggling with dry red skin in that area. It doesn't help my dry eyes just the skin around them and the eyelash area. I fully expected to be allergic to it as I am to so many things but thankfully I'm not. It's extremely gentle. I have problems even with water on my skin but can use this.
-
No I haven't Robin that's straight onto my to do list I'll get that in the morning like you say I have trouble even using water it really nips my eyes.thanks so much for that suggestion xx
-
I use a cotton wool pad with some on to wipe around my eyes then clean the lash line with a cotton bud soaked in it. Boots sell it if your local pharmacy doesn't. Hope it improves things for you.
-
I've just ordered the wipes online they'll be here tomorrow as I just remembered I'm stuck in again tomorrow, fingers crossed I'm desperate for some relief lol.thanks again robin xx
-
The wipes are good but the liquid is much better for cleaning the lash line properly. I don't know why but it does make a difference cleaning that area even if there's no dirt to see. Hopefully the wipes will do the job for you but if you find it helps but could be better then try the liquid on the cotton bud.
-
The wipes are good for holidays
-
Not that I go on holiday any more
-
That's why I opted for wipes robin I'm going to Lake Como on Saturday for 6 days touring holiday so they'll be nice and handy ty xx
-
Perfect hope they work and you have a lovely time Daisydot. That's somewhere I'd love to go if I ever manage to get my anxiety etc under control 🙄
-
I do so feel for people who can't do all the things we take for granted like this it's not easy,I lost numerous holidays after my accident as I just couldnt be away from home the thought terrorised me and I used to weep buckets on the day,my poor hubby is so understanding and doesn't bat an eye anyone else would go nuts.my secret now is have a kit bag with antidotes for everything I think could happen so I don't have the worry of trying to find what I may need, medicine wise.it works for me I don't feel so stressed in the build up to the holiday and I'm a bit more relaxed on the actual journey,of course hrt was the biggest factor in all this it certainly helped with the fear of utis abroad.thank you again x
-
It's something I hope to be able to do in the future but I've got a long way to go yet. It's lovely to know that you have found ways to overcome your terrors. I hope I'm heading in the right direction but it's painfully slow progress. I've learnt so much from this forum though that I hope I'm finally starting on the right track after all these years.
Happy holidays
Xx
-
Just wondered robin if you suffer from blepharitis do you get constant tears and stickiness esp first thing in morning? I've seen 3 ophthalmic opticians this last 18 months who've all said dry eye and cataracts starting but no mention of anything like blepharitis also eye consultant at hospital who recommended a brain scan due to possibility head injury was causing suspected fistula and enlarging blood vessels that came back normal.swine terrorised me with that guesswork.i researched blepharitis after you mentioned it and that seems more like the problems I'm having as all of a sudden it dies down then flares up again really badly that goes on all through the day.xx
-
I haven't had it diagnosed but I've always had dry allergic eyes. I've never been able to wear contact lenses even the new ones that are supposed to be ok for dry eyes. They've got a lot worse during my menopause and my symptoms seem to tally with what you described. Red very dry skin around eyes. Soreness. Crusty on a morning and they look like they've been running tears at night. If I use the blephasol twice a day they are much improved. I can even wear mascara (only one particular one)and eyeliner again ( didn't think that would ever be possible again) which the blephasol removes really well. If I stop using it it flares back up badly again. I suspect it might be blepharitis but I'm not certain as I didn't see my gp. When I went to my local pharmacist (she's really very good) to ask for drops for the dry sore feeling on my actual eyeball she looked at my eyes and said to try the blephasol first as she thought that's what I needed. I still have dry eyes but ive always been dry head to toe. Worse with the menopause.
-
I almost didn't reply to your original post Daisydot because the tests you were having sounded so serious and you've had a nasty knock to your head which I haven't but I decided to eventually just in case it would help because your symptoms sounded so similar to mine. I guess you will soon know if the wipes make any difference at all. If they do then I would definitely give the liquid a go when you've finished the wipes because it gets in all the nooks and crannies and gives me more relief. I really hope it works for you it's annoying but much more preferable to what the consultant suggested might be wrong.
Good luck Daisydot
Robin

I think your right with that info, why can't these so called professionals join the dots nowadays instead of trying to be too clever with their assumptions.Ive just been to boots and bought the wipes and I've got the gel coming today I ordered online after reading recommendations that it was good so I'll hit it with a double whammy lol.so good you can wear your eye makeup again that's all I used to wear and it kills me going out like this I feel naked lol.pleased it's working for you and even more pleased you took the time to suggest it to me a zillion thank yous again xx
-
Whoops crossed over there robin.yes I'm so pleased you did reply it's a good option for me to explore I'm getting nowhere with anything I'm trying so fingers crossed xx
-
I haven't tried the gel just the wipes and liquid so would love to know how you get on with it
-
I know what you mean re eye makeup I hated having to go without before I tried this. I really hope it works. I've found so much good info on this forum and I would love to think I've passed something useful on
-
You certainly have robin I've just used the eye wipes while waiting on my boiled egg lol and god the relief of that different feeling around my eyes it took the sticky feeling away right away and I can still feel it working on my lids. The gel will be here sometime today and I did read people said it's completely different to the other products in that range and is quicker at healing so that by 6 months max the blepharitis should be completely gone.i was looking at the mites too and apparently you can get 25 to each eyelash gross isn't it they also cause the eyelashes to fall out which mines have done with a vengeance.as I said previously not one of these people I saw mentioned this so a huge thank you to you and I'll keep you updated re the gel.xx
-
Ps that's two gps three orthopaedic opticians and an eye consultant from the hospital ,bunch of bloody geniuses eh..??
-
Daisydot, these geniuses never try the simple things first do they?
Although my eyes aren't too bad at the moment, I will invest in one of the Blephasol products. Thanks for that recommendation Robin.
So glad you are beginning to feel some relief Daisydot, keep up the good work. I must look into the eyelash mite business too, I've never had good eyelashes. What a fund of information you ladies are!
All the best to you both,
JP x
-
I'm really not surprised any more. It's taken seeing a gynaecologist, a uro gynaecologist, a bowel doctor, neurologist, phsychiatrists, psychologists, gp's and several other types of dr/ consultants, several invasive procedures and many horrible medications for me to finally realise it was the menopause. Not one mention of it from any of the doctors. Getting appropriate treatment is a whole other battle. Things are just starting to change for me and that's all from the information I have gleaned on here.
I like the sound of the gel possibly getting rid of the problem so I'm off to read up on it. Looking forward to hearing how you get on with it. Thanks Daisydot.
Robin
-
Good luck Joaniepat hope it works for you too
-
Hi JP she's an absolute star isn't she. I'm already feeling a difference my redness has died down and my eyes feel tighter but more comfortable and I've only used two of the Blephaclean wipes this morning.there a tenner from boots and 9 from amazon.i cut one wipe in two as recommended on another site and that worked great as one for each eye in case of cross infection.cant wait now till the gel gets delivered and I try that as it's meant to be the best.the mites are manky but apparently we all have them on our skin etc microscopic obviously, but still manky lol.my mum was registered blind and my eyes have always been a concern but that didn't seem to register with any of these geniuses either.anyway I'm so pleased so far well done Robin xx
-
Oh Daisydot I can't tell you how much that means to me. I've been so unwell both physically and mentally with the menopause that I had to give up my job and have felt so useless to everyone in my life. I've felt like a completely rubbish mum and wife because I haven't been capable of looking after myself never mind anyone else and that was the opposite to how things used to be. And your timing was perfect as things are just starting to change. You've really perked me up. I'm so pleased it's working for you. It was the same for me instant relief. I like your idea for cutting the wipes I will remember that.
By the way your earlier posts on this section really made me smile. You're making a difference even to those just reading not posting 😁
Robin

Hi Robin I'm so sorry to hear you've had such a crappy time it's not easy on ladies is it,I've had about five years of feeling like you do couldn't bear the thought of even interacting with my grandchildren I was so bad so I understand how your feeling, every wee thing is a bloody mountain to climb but you will get through it and yes it makes such a difference to your confidence if you can even help one person while your feeling like that I get that, that's why I get so ticked off at the professionals how could you go through your life not doing your job to the best of your ability and not taking a pride in being able to make someone's life richer with your skills and knowledge I just don't get that.I fully understand when our ladies say no I'm scared I'm bothering the docs or no I'm scared to confront them or challenge them, when you don't feel at your best every single day is a challenge and that's why some days we could fight Goliath and others we crawl back into our shell everyone experiences that and if more ladies understood this their life would be more copable so if more of the professionals could discuss this and not be so quick to dope us up with brain altering drugs it would make a huge difference in my humble opinion of course lol,all most of us want us a listening ear and a wee bit of TLC.Youve done a great service for me and I'm sure a lot of our other ladies will be lurking in the background thinking the same so well done you,xx
-
Absolutely spot on Daisydot and thank you
Robin
-
Indigestion ...........
-
Bad back. Listing to the right. Wish I could stand upright
-
Hi herdwick have you tried the heated back wraps from boots they are impregnated with ibuprofen so don't half help with inflammation.theyre in red wrappers and usually come in a pack of two.I find them a godsend for lng journeys.x
-
Hi Robin hope your well? Never realised how much bum I've lost till I did my coach trip lol it's really annoyed me I could do with a cushioned bum rest it feels like my bum muscles have evaporated, think I need one of those bum implants the rich get 😂😂
-
Oh Daisydot ouch. I know exactly what you mean 😆. I wonder if bum muscles will be affected by testosterone. Hopefully I will soon find out. Did the wipes and gel work Daisydot? I've been wondering how you were getting on.
I read your other post and it sounds like you had an amazing holiday. I'm so pleased anxiety didn't stop you going. I did shudder though at the thought of the coach in the mountains on narrow roads incase there was a steep drop at the side. I can't even watch that on TV 😂 but the views must have been fabulous.
I'm getting on well with my new HRT regime. I'm sleeping for the first time in years 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 icant believe it. I hope me saying that won't jinx it. There's still a very long way to go but that's a really good start. Far more than I expected.
What's ticking me off at the moment is itchy armpits! Never had it before but it's quite annoying. Not the best look in the world to be scratching your armpits like a gorilla 🙈
-
My spare tyre.
It ent that big, I'm trying to shrink it, but not having much luck.
Think it's there to stay, it's seemed to have made itself at home.
Also, my back in the middle is sore, maybe from the gardening I did last week,
right across the centre, it kills when I first get up in the morning.
Unless, my spare tyre is getting too heavy for it.. : :sigh:
Jd x
-
That's great robin I'm so pleased it's startung to kick in for you it really is a bit of a hit or miss game isn't it but it pays to persevere.
My eyes weren't so bad when I was away I used the wipes day and night and they certainly helped,I just seem to prefer them but maybe now I'm home I will try the gel again and see if any major improvements can be made but overall it's definately helping my eyes so I'll keep plodding away till I go back to the consultant on the 22nd it'll be interesting to see what he has to say, plonker lol.
I forgot to take my redbush vanilla bags with me and that ticked me right off plus I was awake at the weirdest hours considering the tours each day were so hectic and I was definately tired,I'll need another holiday to catch up 😂😂
-
I've decided all is a lost cause...everything looks gross :'(
-
I'll bet it doesn't 😂
You have a beautiful heart so sod everything else 😂
-
Thanks Daisydot...good to have you back :thankyou:
-
Plus a good sense of humour kernow,
God knows we need that.
Jd x
-
Omg!
Been awake most of the night with a bad back. Just couldnt get comfortable in bed. Was up at 6.
Id had enough..
Off to buy some kinsiology tape.
-
What's that jd?
-
She's into bondage Daisydot!!! >:(
Sorry Jd...only jokingX Try some heat pads that you can stick on from the pharmacy?
-
Hi daisydot.
It's a tape that you stick on sore muscles, athletes use it when they've pulled
Muscles, it pulls the skin away from whatever muscle you've pulled, and allows it
More room to heal, let's the blood flow through and all stuff like that.
It's brilliant stuff.
Kernow.
You know me sooo well.. >:(
-
Ah Jd...I hit the wrong emoji...was supposed to be ;D
I've had those for a bad knee from a Physio...quite incredible.
Hope it works for youX
-
Ohh I definately need to google that I've never heard of it and I've used every backpain thing on the market I think 😂
Well done and thank you ladies,jd sounds like kernows willing to share those pink furry handcuffs now 😂😂
-
Jd lovely, hows your back today?
Hoping it's feeling a little better, really can wear you down with the pain.
On a naughty note...Daisydot has inferred you might like the pink furry handcuffs but I suspect she has a fetish for them, hence her bad nights sleep the other night ;D
Hope you haven't got wrapped up in your bands and sending you big hugs..
Daisydot, hope your leg is back to norm ...
I need you girls back up on your feet for the Hot Menobabes :cancan: :bighug:
-
Naughty kernow lol.
Talking of bondage.
When we were on our last nights stopover in France we stayed at a different hotel and the two single beds were so narrow, like the cabin beds on boats so I lay with my arms by my sides all night petrified I was going to fall out so next day on coach the drivers asked if we'd slept well and I told them about our beds and said my husband was going to take the elastic luggage straps off our suitcases and tie me onto bed as he was so worried and of course I got ripped to bits about bondage games etc my face was scarlet, too much info
-
I thought that muscles are bonded to the various limbs/joints otherwise wouldn't we simply flop around like a rag doll :-\
Lower back has been sore but I didn't move last night, even my knees were numb on waking ::)
My throat has developed that irritating cough again ...... due to yet another cold :(
-
Hi kernow.
Managed to get some sleep last night but wasn't great,
all strapped up with tape, felt like a parcel, lol,
struggled all flipping day, popping painkillers, all miserable and feeling
sorry for myself, but still moving around as much as I could, then just like
that about an hour ago it seemed so much better.
Still there a little ,but much much better, so the tape has been ripped off,
that bloody hurt , pulled my back hair off with it too, (only joking) > ;D
so I'm hoping to get a good nights sleep tonight after I've watched the durells.
So now I'm rearing to go again, (well nearly)and can get back to what matters
and that's ‘The Menobabes'.
As for the furry handcuffs, I think daisydot does really love them so lend them to her 1st,
then I'll have them after, my back won't stand up to it just yet... ::)
Jd x
-
I think I've forgotten what to do with them jd lol.I wish I could get my mojo back that's the only thing missing now.xx
-
My "apron" - I was never totally flat there but the saggy shape that's there now makes me want to cry :'( !! I hate it............my stomach muscles took a nose dive over a few days, not all that long ago and there they've stayed! >:(
-
Here's an easy exercise to help tone that apron dulciana, open your door and stand facing the edge of it with feet apart, take your door handles one in each hand and lower yourself down as if to sit in a chair using the door handles as support,do this 5-10 times a couple of times a day,it takes no time and costs nothing and will help tone up your pelvic floor muscles.good luck xx
-
I'm trying the blepharitis gel now Robin as I've run out of wipes and I must admit now that I've got the cotton pads to put it on and wipe with it's defunately much easier and I feel my eyes easing again, that really large blood vessel in left eye that consultant was concerned about seems to have shrunk a bit too it's def not as raging red,my eyelids have also calmed down especially lower left eyelid, when I did head injury all my eye where you would have your laughter lines split open with the force I guess,so my eye at that corner has always been tight and tender so the gel seems to be easing that feeling too.thank you again for suggesting it I could give you a big cyber kiss 😂😂
-
That sound painful Daisydot but great news that the gel and wipes are helping. I will add the gel it to my next Boots order. It will be good to compare it to the liquid. Can you also put it right onto the inner lid? Not sure if that's what it's called but I'm meaning the bit where we used to put eyeliner on back in the eighties 😂 (Can't think how else to describe it). That's the only bit I miss with the wipes but I'm thinking the gel might cling there and last a bit longer maybe.
I'm really pleased it's helping.
It's expensive this ageing lark 🙄
Robin
-
Hi Robin yes I know where you mean lol that's where my eye was really inflamed and annoyed me most,I put the gel on cotton pads yesterday twice and then this morning and already I'm noticing it calming down more, the gel seems to coat the eyelids and lashes.x
-
Thanks I'll give it a go then. I really like the liquid so I will use that to clean my eyes and take off my mascara then put the gel afterwards. Maybe that will see it off for good
-
That's a good idea I've not tried any eye make up yet I want to give it a bit longer to repair.x
-
I did the same and still occasionally leave it off to give my eyes a rest
-
Sadly the apron dropping ain't related to pelvic floor muscles. Mine went in a matter of days about 4 years ago. When I look downwards I look fat but turn sideways, not too bad ;-).
My throat is nuisance value only.
-
Have you tried difflum throat spray from chemist it's very good x
-
Here's an easy exercise to help tone that apron dulciana, open your door and stand facing the edge of it with feet apart, take your door handles one in each hand and lower yourself down as if to sit in a chair using the door handles as support,do this 5-10 times a couple of times a day,it takes no time and costs nothing and will help tone up your pelvic floor muscles.good luck xx
Thanks Daisydot. I'll try that!
:thankyou:
-
Your welcome dulciana.i bought one of those gadgets called innova because I can't exercise just now I'm so physically drained at the moment that even doing the stuff I used to be able to do is hurtin* me and I'm convinced I have prolapsed everything, everywhere ,lol I've not even taken it out the box yet I'm just too tired to be bothered but hopefully when my ViT d meds kick in I'll get some of my zing back lol.
Hope it helps you it's nice and easy but as always do it gradually then build up.xx

I've tried to explain to dear daughter that it's hormonal but at 31, she can't see past the go-running-mum-and-it-will-all-firm-up line. The apron, that is, not your throat! I completely identify with the different angles! So unfair!

Hi everyone
Was looking at a photo of myself , only took about 12months ago,
and god, have I aged, I just look so deflated, my face looks drab,
even though I've got make up on, I've lost my mojo.!
Really hate getting older, even my hair has gone darker, and it was
a lovely blonde colour,(natural) even though I've got grey in it.
Don't know what's happened, the only thing I've done is had a shorter cut.
Maybe it's been my bad back that's got me down.
Jd x
-
Hi Jd,
I bet you look fabulous! I can't believe someone with your sunny personality could look drab!
It's the time of year don't you think...long grey winter and our skin suffers..all a bit washed out.
Once the weather picks up I'm sure all will look better. Maybe have some highlights in your hair?
If you were used to being a natural blonde going darker can make you feel different.
Go and look at some colour charts with your hairdresser, be bold :-*
Hang on in there menobabe...you'll be fine :foryou:

Hi kernow
Thanx for the kind reply,
I think it's my hair.!!
I used to have a curly bob style, (permed) and the perm used to lighten it even more,
But when I started this meno thingy the one side of my hair started to go thinner than the other side,
so having a perm would disguise that, then I'd get fed up and have it cut shorter, then have another
perm when it grew a bit, but this time I had a really short cut!
Graduated at the back, (so you know how short that is) but I don't think I like it.
It has started to grow now, so if I can bear with it for a few weeks longer I might go and get it permed
again. I love curls anyway, I've always had them. And my hair grows really quickly.
Sometimes you just need a change I suppose, but this change didn't work out.
Don't think I'll be looking at old photos of myself again for a bit.. :sigh:
I'll be back to my normal self tomorrow, (I hope) especially now I can sleep properly now that
My back is better.
Jd x
Thanx kernow.. :thankyou:
-
After I wrote my last post, I went for a shower and couldn't stop
thinking ‘what the hell is wrong with you?
There's me, having a moan about ‘I've lost my mojo,'and there's thousands
of women who are really suffering with this menopause malarkey, I know I've been there,
And all I can go on about is how I look older!!!!!! And my hair!!!!!
My god, how shallow am I?
Sometimes I think I forget how I suffered, and how other ladies are suffering with meno
and other things in their lives, and sometimes you just lose sight of things.
So, I've come to my senses, and now I'll shut up. :kick: that's for me, a good kick up the ar.........
Jd x
-
Jd I disagree we all have different levels of what makes us sad or happy and your just as entitled to “moan†as we are so you let rip when you want to here's another :bighug: :rofl:xx

Stop that right now young lady! :beat: You have every right to sound off...it's whats important to you and how it makes you feel.
Just one little thing on some days can tip the balance and it doesn't matter what anyone says..that's how you feel.
Personally I find a Balaclava works well in these situations...saves loads of time in the morning ..no hair prep at all!!! Also stops any sea frizzz.... ;D
At the moment I'm perplexed about my nails...ridiculous or what? Always used to be strong and healthy, now just peeling/flaking, so having to keep them really short. Tried loads of strengtheners on them but no effect....so take pity for me it'll be balaclava and gloves...thank god the HRT has sorted out the hot flushes or is just melt!
-
What a vision kernow, think I'm scarred for life now
-
How rude! :bighug:
-
You'll be like queen of the SAS with that lot on 😂😂 maybe better to give the pink handcuffs a swerve 🤭
-
Hi everyone.
A balaclava is just what I need. Lol can't wait to get my hair done,
however, I did give it a little lift today and used loads spray to keep it in place,
Still looked like a bag of :cuss: but made me feel better. ;D
Also shaved my legs, and various other parts of my body, and actually got my legs out
by wearing a skirt!!! How's about that then.?
don't normally wear skirts, ALWAYS in jeans of various lengths, and t,shirts/blouses.
I'll be glad to get it off later, but now I've done it I'll wear other skirts and my dresses now
that the weathers warming up again. ::)
My nails are completely stuffed! The use of fake nails over the years has destroyed them,
but I never did have strong nails in first place. :'(
You never know, we're soon be up and running ‘the menobabes'
just gotta sort my hair (and legs) kernows nails, and daisydots furry handcuffs. ;)
Jd x :cancan:

I'm a retired hairdresser jd and I also get “bad†hair days if it's any consolation, that's usually when the hair goes up lol.Im quite sure my hair is thinning but again that's to be expected with ageing but doesn't mean I have to like it.
I have never ever shaved my legs there's nothing to shave and I'm so squeamish I don't think I could,I often wonder why ladies don't use hair remover rather than shaving ,there's a question for you.
Nails, get some good organic coconut oil and massage into your nails every night then put a warm pair of socks over your hands( very sexy look lol) in no time the nail bed will start to recover and you'll see a big difference in them.
Welcome to the “menobabes clinic “ I do accept PayPal
-
Hi daisydot
Ive always shaved my legs only use hair remover cream on my chin. God its horrible ent it. Ive never admitted that to anyone.
Lol. Too messy. ::)
If i ever give up my nails ill give that a try with the coconut oil. But they just break.
Too much washing up. :(
God you'd make a fortune with all your great advice. Just remember we get mates rates. :-* lol
Jd x
Hope your days been better. X
-
::) I'm fine thank you jd I'm just a plodder I don't stay down for very long there's always another route for me to explore it keeps me out of mischief lol. :bighug:
-
At the moment - with daughter coming to stay tomorrow, who apparently told DH last time she was up that I need to lose weight >:( - every part! I've tried to get daughter and DH to understand that weight gained during the meno has a mind of its own and that shifting the pyramids in Egypt is easier than shifting this extra weight, but they just don't appreciate it. :(
-

So thanks DD and Jd....coconut oil ok. I've never worn false nails.. 40 years in a profession washing my hands constantly in cheap yuk.
Shall get some tomorrow and try.
I agree with Jd..mates rates DD?? :bunis:
-
Always kernow 😘
-
It has to be far hotter than this 4 me to even consider shaving my legs ;D and oh it is so uncomfy, wearing a skirt :-\ - thighs stick together >:(
Nails can flake if the body is short of, I think, zinc?
My itchy under the ribs feelings. Always at the end of a cold. Was told when younger that it is imagination >:(. Can't get under the rib cage to have a Good Scratch ..........
-
Totally agree, the skirt was horrendous! :(
Couldn't wait to get it off, so it'll be washed, ironed,
and hung back up in wardrobe probably for another 12months. :-\
Give me a dress, or better still maxi dress, or shorts any day. ;D
-
Hey Jd....
How's your back, been thinking of youX
I used to love skirts but then the menopause hit and my waist up and left!
I tend to get stuck in jeans every day when I'm not at work and that makes me cross because I used to be far more adventurous. ::)
-
Last year I started wearing those little soft linen mini skirts and I loved them, elasticated waists of course lol,it got the air up around my burning bits and got me out of jeans for a while,I have to admit it did make me feel more feminine and dressed even if it was just a tea shirt on top but teamed with sandals I just felt better if you get me.cant wait to expose the legs again
-
Hi kernow
Yeah backs ok, thanx ,although I thought y'day it was gonna get me again,
but it's settled down, thank god.
I'd rather wear a dress, than a skirt to be honest, I feel tooo dressed up in a skirt and it was
uncomfortable to be fair, maybe because I'm not used to wearing them.
I'm always in jeans, jeans n boots, jeans n Sandles, jeans n flip flops, my god, I'll be buried in
a pair of jeans,,,, at least I'll be comfy.. ;D
R u ok? How you doing today?
Jd x
-
When I get cremated I want my toenails done nicely with sparkly nail polish 😂
-
Yes daisydot, I love all the sparkly nail polishes that are
about nowadays, but then take for ever to get off.
They just won't budge.
Jd x
-
I bought some nice nude colour nail polishes today for my holiday feet next week it better not blooming rain after all the prep work I've done for this one,I want my sexy holiday sun look back I'm fed up feeling pale and frumpy lol.x
-
My throat which feels like yet another cold on it's way :bang:
-
Yes CLKD my throat feels a bit raw at the back tonight, hope it's nothing that gets a grip on either of us I hate being ill.x
-
Have you tried the ‘polish one toe, or finger a cantrasting colour' daisydot?
It really looks nice. I do it all the time, or just have one nail painted glittery.
Oh no CLKD, no not a cold, it always seems worse when the weathers nice,
don't know why, but it does, hope you feel better soon.
Get a nice ice cream down ya. ;D
Jd x
-
I've got a 'coke' to hand ;-).
-
Awwww naughty girl, CLKD.
-
No I haven't jd I'm gonna do it though lol.ty xx
-
Himself measured the amount of sugar each bottles has ........... :-X don't care, won't care ;D
Sciatica down the right leg - gardening is supposed to be good for me :-\. I know what I did.
-
Ouch rest up x
-
Had that bloody terrible sciatica a few years back, lasted about
two weeks, the pain is awful, nothing helped except when I stretched
right out in bed on my back. It did ease then .
I feel your pain CLKD, sending :foryou: to you, hope you feel better soon.
Jd x
-
Tnx. Took 2 Nurofen and it eased within 10 mins. Can feel it pulling again so will take more B4 bed.
-
Apparently if you sit on a chair and lift your outside ankle to touch the opposite knee it stretches that big buttock muscle that traps the sciatic nerve and helps release it,worth a try but be very careful after those baked beans on toast tonight 😂😂 xx
-
 can I wait until the morning? Don't think I could do that manoeuvre on a good day ;D
-
Hope it eases tonight for you not much fun trying to sleep in this heat with sciatica and I think it's probably for the best to wait ;D
-
As long as you don't want photos :D
-
I've just had this awful picture come into my head I won't be able to sleep tight now  x I feel violated ;D ;D
-
Go to sleep, the vision will fade :P
-
-
The lines on my chest.
Apparently in the boots free magazine it's because I sleep
when I eventually do sleep that is, on my side!
Try and sleep on your back , they say, but I've never been able to sleep
on my back, my face seems to do funny things when I'm on my back, and
it wakes me up!
It's too late now to do anything about them , even virgin trains asked if they can use
them!
Jd x
-
You could rent them out ? :o - I don't look at my chest ::)
-
My feet they're so sore I'm sick of trying to get something that doesn't hurt me,I ended up wearing black trainers with my sexy shorts in Benidorm lol not a good look but I've got to laugh you should have seen the amount of ladies doing exactly the same as we had tortured our feet with the “newâ€sandals we never learn do we,old and falling to bits is the safest option for holidays lol.
-
My stomachs killing me at the moment
It's so bloated and painful, and I don't know why.
Could it be the hrt?
I've took windeze but not working yet,
I'll see if it improves over next couple days, if not I can feel
a doctors appointment coming on..
-
I like bread but it doesn't like me so I usually get pain and bloating when I fall by the wayside and even one slice is enough to cause me problems,so,I decided to switch to Irish soda bread and I must say I've had no bloating at all and it's really nice and filling.ive been making lunch time sandwiches with it.
I doubt it's the hrt it's more likely to be something your eating or drinkin* so keep an eye on that xx
-
Hi daisydot
I do eat a lot of bread tbh,
But I'm lost without it.
What's that Irish bread taste like daisydot?
Does it taste much different to ordinary bread?
And can you toast it ?
Jd x
-
It's much better for you it doesn't have yeast in it so doesn't cause bloating.I get from marks think it's around £1-30 or thereabouts.its dark like a small round loaf but sliced, makes good toast with marmalade it's yum nice and sweet for breakfast.
-
Ok daisydot
I'll have a look and try it.
You can only try and eliminate things, so thanx for that. ;D
I wanted a Kardashian's bum,
It seems to be growing out of my belly instead of where it should be.
What do they say? Be careful what you wish for?
Could be right....
Jd x
-
Well I didn't like to point that one out butt!!!
-
Where's kernow jd is she ok.
-
Daisydot, I think Kernow is on holiday. I'm sure I saw a post from her a few days ago about going away for a week.
Hope all is well with you.
JP x
-
Thank you Jp I hope she's ok and having fun.
I'm great thank you got a busy week ahead with appointments so that'll keep me out of mischief lol.
All these years I complained of having no pubic hair and when I was using the coconut oil for V.A it suddenly sprouted with a vengeance and tonight I've just had to chop it all back off in preparation for the trans vag scan tommiriw night lol.thanks Jp I hope alls well with you xx
-
Good luck with all your appointments Daisydot, and don't worry about the hair, it'll grow back I'm sure. Mine grew again with using Oestrogel and Testogel!
JP x
-
It's weird but after not having any I don't like it now,I don't shave anywhere on my body as I've no hair my mum was the same as me but my sisters and daughter shave lol. Xx
-
My tongues still bothering me but nearly sorted the salt rinses seem to be healing it can't believe it was so nasty, it effected my whole tongue all down the sides too it was a nasty cut right at the front middle,be glad when I can get a decent meal again lol.
-
Hi daisydot
You say you haven't got any pubic hair, (up until now)
Well, ever since this flipping menopause malarkey mines nearly gone!!!!
I used to have to shave, you know bikini area, and at tops of legs on the inside
nearly every flipping week, !!! I hate hair, hate it, hate it hate it.....lol
But now, i don't really need to touch it, it's amazing, lol :)
Talk about feeling like a bald eagle, lol even my hair on my legs doesn't seem
to grow that fast anymore! I love it,....lol ;D
The only hair I'm worried about is the type on my head.
God, if I lost that, my new name would be Yule brenner!
At least me & OH would match, he's a bald as a badger......lol ;D
Jd x
-
If your missing it slap some coconut oil on it really does work lol,I didn't do it for that reason but apparently pubic hair is also there to stop bacteria, like a barrier ,from reaching your inner plumbing so maybe that's another reason that as we lose our pubes through menopause we get more utis etc.i believe it contributes to that but that's just my rocket scientist theory lol.
I've never ever shaved I'm too scared so I've been lucky really.Im an ex hairdresser so head hair doesent bother me much I do my own thing with colouring just get it trimmed at salon these days but occasionally I'll have the colour done for a treat as they say but to be honest I hate going, plus I hate the prices charged.Thats another story isn't it lol.
-
Hi daisydot
Yep, 50/60 quid my hairs gonna cost me on Wednesday!
I've always hated going the hairdresser, although I've been
with this one for about 5years now, and still I'm not happy, lol
The hairdressers I've had over the years, and I've only ever been happy
with one of them! She moved and packed up so that was the end of
my happiness. Lol. I always got ‘what colour have you got on your hair'
‘None, I haven't ‘ I'd say. And they'd look at me as if I was telling lies,
I'm sure most of them just didn't believe me. Anyway, .... ;)
I'm quite happy NOT to have much now down below tbh, I was fed up
With an Afro, now I've just got a slight comb over...... ;D
Jd x.
-
Girls!!! :bouncing:
Daisydot and Jd....
More visions you've both traumatised me with :o
Jds ‘comb over' and Daisydot slapping on the ol coconut oil!!!
Hate going to the hairdressers...I get so bored!!! My hairdressers lovely and known her for years but I can't help fidgeting....and it's getting like a second mortgage now....
Mind you do clip the dogs hair....perhaps I should have a go...
-
What an image eh? Kernow,
You're right, second mortgage, and mines putting her prices up soon.
Think I'll get OHs clippers out....lol.
Jd x. ;D
-
For which bit Jd?
-
 kernow
-
What a naughty pair you two are ,the scissor sisters springs to mind here
-
You want to be at this end of the country with hair prices its mad,£110 - £150 for highlights is the average.and you'd never have been bored if I'd been your hairdresser trust me
-
They can charge what they like. But one doesn't have to pay it!
My last wash, cut, blow dry cost £25.00 ;-). I'm of a certain age, tha' knows :whist:
Not my body as much as the hairs under my chin being a nuisance :-\
-
Problem is here we are competing against a very young clientele with lots of spends,I know having worked in the business, and of course our business rates are through the roof which they reflect in their prices. If we went out of the town centres, like everywhere ,or even mobile then obviously that's a different ball game.I suppose we all have choices but for me it's a rare thing I do so I'll pay if I'm getting a quality service,if I don't feel that I move on.
My hair is probably the only thing that doesent “tick me off†lol.
-
Gut today. It doesn't know if I'm hungry or not ::) and don't get me started on slow bowel transit :poke2:
-
Every bit of my body is ticking me off today (hair went wrong, face has come out in spots, my hands are more liver spot than skin, I look like an elephant in the mirror even when I suck in) BUT! My feet - from about 4/5ths of the way down to the ends of my toes look bloody fantastic ie they look like they always have. I love you, feet. :boobs:
-
And you have a very pretty cat there lol xx
-
My bust! Or rather my rapidly deminishing bust. How come everybody else's gets bigger at this time of life but my modest quota gets even smaller? What the hecks that all about?
-
Dunno, Robin. Same thing has happened to me. Are you losing weight? I am and I can't spare any.
JP x
-
I really thought it would only be me. Maybe it is something to do with weight. I'm not losing weight but I keep it quite low. Id like just a little bit more in that department if could :o
-
Jeez ladies mines would give Katie Price a run for her money albeit a bit closer to my knees these days lol. :boobs: :boobs:
-
Well how greedy Daisydot 😂 Maybe you could spare me a bit. It's strange how some get bigger at this stage and others smaller
-
Yes deffo.need to see if we can find something with similar effects for our menfolks eh
-
Absolutely ;D
-
I feel this last year my hair has got thinner. I've always had masses of thick hair and all my hairdressers have commented how nice and healthy it is. Its long and I've always twisted it up into a top knot of some sort. On holiday last week I bought some elasticated hair accessories and when the girl was demonstrating how you use them it suddenly struck me how much thicker her hair was than mine.
My white hair is coming through really well now and I like it. I know I had several inches cut off recently but I am hoping it doesnt lose any more thickness.
-
Mine too pennyfarthing. It still looks thick enough but used to be much thicker
-
My hair has gone barmy on the left side,
Unless it's my hairdresser, can't understand it, :-\
it seems shorter on that side, it drives me mad,
when I run my fingers through it, it does feel thinner,
That's why I have it permed, it doesn't seem so bad when it's curly. ::)
And Nooooooo, it's not an Afro, I know you were thinking that, lol
Imagine me with an Afro, blonde n all, what would that look like.? Lol
Jd xx.
-
Mine too pennyfarthing. It still looks thick enough but used to be much thicker
I have made a discovery in Superdrug to make hair thicker and tried it tonight and its really good! Not sure if I'm allowed to say what it is on here but if I can I will or PM me if you like. :)
-
My belly - slow transit probably >:(
I had a perm in the 1980s: looked like Crystal Tips :D
-
I think it's OK to mention brand names Pennyfarthing, members do it all the time. Do tell!
JP x
-
Hahaha CLKD
Crystal tips......bet you looked groovy, like jess Glynn.
Jd x
-
:thankyou: Jess Glyn might be ......... who exactly ;)
Nerves are bad this morning :'(
-
I think it's OK to mention brand names Pennyfarthing, members do it all the time. Do tell!
JP x
OK its called “got2b†volumising styling powder by schwarzkopf and was £3 in superdrug. Says it does up to 50 applications. You put a little in your hand and massage it into roots where you feel you need a bit of thickness and it works much to my surprise.
I Swept my hair up into a top knot and it looked loads thicker. Last week I felt I looked like a flipping ballerina with my hair all scraped back and a tiny bun on top! ;D. For £3 its worth a try but it certainly worked for me.
-
Today I saw a young girl of about 11 with top knots above her ears and a pig-tail down the back of her head, she had stuck flags in the top-knots; 2 in each ::) we were at a big event - sorry a bit of meander :-\
Less stressed now but ears ache - not much but background enough to make me wince :-\
-
Oh, joaniepat.
I'll have a look for that too, I could with some on my left side.
I use got2be mousse sometimes, so I know the brand.
Thanx for that...
Jd x
Should have said penny farthing. Sorry.. ::)
-
Perimenopause for sure giving me one hell of a time... anxiety, palpitations and most annoying symptom ear ringing. Has anyone else experience this? What have you tried that helps? Also ladies who have gone through this phase of perimenopause, did tinnitus get better as you reached menopause? I'm 39... my periods have been irregular for almost a year now. I am taking low dose birth control to help balance hormones.
-
Yep. Sounds within normal limits for this time of Life. We have a search button which can be useful.
Tinnitus is often problematic. As oestrogen levels drop off so muscles may become lax = various aches and pains, heart burn, the Eustachian tubes may narrow. Also, the body may become dry :o >:( - do read round.
Today my legs ache .......... probably due to a lack of exercise rather than anything else: note to self :-\
-
My wrinkles around the sides of my mouth. Or, laughing lines......as I like to call em....lol ;D
I hate them with a passion.... >:(
My daughter in law, has just had Botox why I don't know, she's not 30 yet, and looks as young as anything.!
Makes me feel ancient.
Wish I was younger....... :'( :'( :'( :'( :'(
-
I know Jeanie, thanx, I do try to stay young looking, without looking like ‘liz' on Corrie...lol
But it does depress me sometimes, even more when the grandkids come up,
Looking at their young faces, then catching a glance at mine, oh, god I hate it.
I know it's silly, but when I see my son and his OH, it makes me feel so, so old.
I know she's got issues with herself, and she says I look young for ‘my age,'
which makes me feel even older! Even though it's a complement.!
You just can't win, I really hate this getting older malarkey, but still, what can you do?
I'm trying to embrace it, instead of fighting it, because after all, it's gonna happen no matter
what I or anybody else does.
Sorry, just sounding off, stupid really, over something that's happening to everyone....
Jd x.
-
Hi jeaniewigs..
Suzi Quattro? No, not at all, lol... blonde/meg Ryan/or even Kim Wilde, I could live with that, but Suzi Quattro? Get that image right outa your head now mrs.............lmao. ::)
Nah, only joking. Suzi was good weren't she?.....lol
I've promised myself not to let this getting older thing get me down, from now on, after all,
It's only me it's making miserable, and like I said, there's nothing I can do about it, except have
plastic surgery and risk looking like Jocelyn Wildstein....lol (I think that's how you spell it)
So , I'm gonna get on with the rest of my life, (I've got more important things to worry about)
wearing a mask, and a black bag......No, I'm gonna get on with the rest of my life not worrying about
