You can sign this petition to get the very outdated tv licence abolished once and for all,it is set to rise yet again next year.In my humble opinion,it should only be payable if you watch it like all other tv channels.

I disagree - unless the BBC goes for adverts, how will it be funded for those who continue to watch? Even if the BBC buys in programmes from Companies, that will cost a lot. Is there a breakdown as to how the License fee is spent?
-
I never watch BBC,their sitcoms are dire and their news biased

Agree. The bias is horrendous. Should not have to pay for that!
-
I can't believe the bias at the BBC, I watch the news with shock sometimes.
I hate adverts and will fast forward if I've recorded anything, we pay for other TV channels and in this day and age probably time for a change on how the BBC funds themselves.
-
Suggestions on a postcard ? :-\
I take all news with a pinch of salt.
-
Absolutely, I hate paying for the BBC ,even the free channels have better programmes, the BBC were ok in the day of 3 or 4 channels but now? I can't understand why they don't make it like other channels where you pay IF you view or adverts 🤷♀️

I really love BBC Sounds and spend hours listening to podcasts, plays, books etc. It keeps me entertained and informed in the small hours of the morning when I'm lying awake with chronic pain. I don't know what I would have done without it during lockdown as I live alone and could go a week or more without speaking to anyone. Love BBC iPlayer too.
-
That's great autumnwalks ,so would you be willing to pay the BBC if they scrapped the licence? I'm not knocking anyone who loves the beeb, just that it's not very fair if you rarely watch it 🤷♀️
-
Get rid of the 📺 then and watch via laptops etc. rather than catch up?
-
They could sack all the £million plus presenters (Lineker et al) and reduce the fee to £50. It's time they stopped paying themselves so much.

Yep and constantly patting themselves on the back >:(
-
Yes I would but totally understand why people wouldn't.

I love BBC IPlayer, probably the best thing about the BBC.

Agree. Salaries for so called stars are ridiculous.

Agree. They currently don't have to answer to anyone or justify their programming because they are given funding. It's time they were accountable.

As should the government and opposition be ............. and GP surgeries, those still not being able to see a GP face2face. :-\
-
I must admit I watch iplayer but I'd happily pay to view, rather than pay the extortionate amount the BBC charges for a licence AND it's set to rise again in April >:(
