Title: A little tip for menopause bloating
Post by: Crafty Kaz on September 24, 2018, 08:21:42 PM
Hi ladies
I've been suffering with bloating during my menopause transition & wanted to share my experience with you all hoping it can help someone else! I tried everything .... drinking more water, eating more fibre, exercising more, several different supplements but no improvement ... then one of my lovely elderly clients asked if I had tried apple cider vinegar (apparently it helped her 30 years ago) couldn't stomach the pure form so off to the health shop I went & brought the tablets, the improvement in my gut health has been remarkable & I've only been taking it a week with each meal! As I understand now from Mr Google as we go through the menopause our stomach bile reduces which causes a lot of gut issues & apple cider vinegar can counteract this problem ... happy days!! Hope it can help anyone else suffering.
Much love Kaz x

Thanks Kaz, I will certainly be trying this.

Just be awar that it's quite acidic, so can start causing acid wear / erosion on your teeth. I always recommend my patients either use a straw to drink it, or rinse very thoroughly with plain water immediately after drinking it. Also, don't brush your teeth for at least 30mins after drinking, your teeth are in a vulnerable state (ie enamel is very slightly softer) so can be worn away very quickly by the brush, especially if you're someone who brushes your teeth very hard xx

I've been giving my dogs ACV for their gut health so I might try to do the same for myself as I'm extremely bloated just now, apparently a teaspoon added to water is enough?  I'll make sure to use a straw tho x
