Big headlines today about monkeys being used to pick coconuts from trees ........ that's OK as many cultures harness animal skills to enhance local living, but it's how they are treated when not picking coconuts that has come to the fore.
Canine and incisor teeth removed so that they can't bite their handlers
Being kept in small cages for hours and not allowed to play
Many supermarkets are withdrawing their support for coconut growers until this issue is sorted. This will spread of course to the whole hair/beauty industry, drinks, face creams ............
