Title: Swollen area on thigh
Post by: Tootsey11 on March 25, 2021, 10:12:49 PM
For the last 3 weeks I have a swollen area about palm size on my inner thigh. Roughly about 4-5 inches up from my knee. It is not red, warm or painful. Showed it to Gp who has done a range of bloods and all normal. He has no clue. My thigh has been painful in other areas but not this area. Can anyone tell me is this normal, do limbs swell for no reason. Its not fluid either, as its not squidgy, just all raised up.

Have U done extra exercise recently, in that the inner area near the knee may develop muscle ?  At the lower end of the quads muscle ?  Is it keeping you awake, does it impact on raising from the bed or chair?  MayB measure above the knee and above the area of swelling as well as the area itself and note if there are any changes.

No, no extra exercise. It's definitely not muscle, I wish. I've lost weight, a bit anyway. I can move round as normal, but leg feels heavy, just not right and thigh is tight when I'm sitting.

Are you able to self refer to a physiotherapist?
