Hi there is an alternatives room. Have a browse.
How recent was the diagnosis and have you had treatment?
-
Get a big fan by your bed, also an air con unit if you can,I could NEVER do without mine

Bags of frozen peas to put around your neck in the evening, a fan by the bed and wear layers of cotton to whip on/off as the sweats happen. It may help if you tell your Colleagues - "Ignore me, I'm having a moment!" ......

Hi katmcdade. Sorry to hear of your recent breast cancer and I hope your treatment and recovery are going well. The hot sweats are so debilitating aren't they? I'm not sure that all herbal treatments are recommended either re breast cancer but a lot of women get good results from blood pressure medication. Friends of mine are on one called Clonodine which stopped their hot sweats totally. Also a low dose of an SSRI such as fluoxetine can help.
If you are experiencing other Meno symptoms such as vaginal dryness then a topical oestrogen such as vagifem is still able to be used despite breast cancer diagnosis in a lot of cases so please don't just put up with it.
You'll get lots of support and friendship on here.

Hi Katmcdade, sorry to hear of your recent BC. I do not take hrt and I have BC in family.
Had your periods already stopped when you were diagnosed with BC or has that put you into early menopause?

Hello Katmcdade and welcome to the forum.
I am fortunate not to experience horrible night sweats but I have often been very warm overnight.
I now use a wool duvet, mattress topper and pillow and I'm sure they help as wool is a good temperature regulator and wicks away sweat.
Sadly these things are not cheap but are a good investment.
Wishing you well and keep posting.
