Thank you! Just spoken to Mum and Dad, who've had a quiet day in. They had a lovely day out earlier in the week and a meal out yesterday. We shall take them out next week.
-
so lovely that they have made this milestone and can still celebrate it together. My very best wishes to them. It is our 40th this year so we still have a way to go :)

Congratulations to both of them, what an achievement - my best wished to them both.

Thank you! We're taking them out for a meal an Asian fusion restaurant next Monday, which they love. When I booked the table, I was asked if it was for a special occasion, so I told the chap, who became rather excited when I told him. He said they would make it a special meal.
-
Photos then! Enjoy!

No photos, but we had a fabulous meal today! We went to an Asian fusion restaurant and were given a bottle of prosecco wine and a bowl of prawn crackers on the house! Mum and Dad were spoil sports as they wouldn't use chop sticks! ::)
Next celebration will be in July when Mum will be 89. Because of Mum's close shave last year, they want to gather more members of the family together for a special day. My son will be flying in on Mum's birthday, so we have agreed to hold it on her birthday, jet lag on not. He's off on a trip with DH the next day. So I have some organising to do. ( he, he I'm so not good at organising!)

As long as any visitors are 'putting themselves up' and not expecting to stay with you, it will all slot into place ;-).
-
No, only my son will be staying! The others live near enough to come for the day, plus our home is small. No spare beds! ::) No, it will be more organising when and food!
-
If you hired a hall could everyone bring a plate? Make sure there's a list so that you don't end up with 1,000s of cheese straws ;D
Our local Motel does a good spread, costing per head. Saves having to wash up ;)

;D now I would be panicking if we needed the use of the village hall! No, they just want close family to come. Now if you are catering for such a large number, you set the date and they either can come or not, but with a small number, I have to try and organise a date to suit everyone. And while I don't enjoy cooking, I do enjoy assembling a buffet or as we call it, an itty bitty tea! The meal out takes care of lunch.
-
No - you organise the day to suit your parents and those who want to attend will do! I had this problem when I was in my 50th year, his brother asked if we had an alternative date - I knew that he usually went to a BBQ with 'friends' on that weekend and wanted to know where his loyalty was. We found out!
Maybe have a couple of dates and let them know in good time?
