Do any of you ladies have any moles that worry you, but have brought it up in the past with your gp and they don't seem concerned so feel unable to get them looked at again as will probably be told it's nothing and just your health anxiety at the moment making you notice anything and everything. I'm good old fair skinned and freckled, not sure if that makes any difference as darent google as will scare myself silly hence asking on here x

Yes, I worry a lot. Very fair skinned. Paid for a full body mole check in 2016. Had two actinic keratoses removed from face at that time. Going back at end of this month for another full body check. Think some new moles have arrived this summer. My health anxiety focuses on different parts of my body in rotation. May was boobs, June was stomach, July was skin - you get the picture ::)
P.S. I dare not even ask my GP, not that I could get an appointment....

Health anxiety is the pits, as soon as you clear one thing up in your mind another thing takes its place 😔 I've got an injection with the nurse this week, not sure if it would be worth asking her as she's lovely. Any idea if they deal with stuff like moles x

Hi
Yes, I worry, I'm fair skinned with lots of freckles. I'm not sure if the nurses will be able to help, but it wont hurt to ask, especially if she is lovely as you say.
I have an area on my back which itches nearly every day. I think its been years. ITs not where my bra is, its a bit above, but Ive asked a couple of friends to look, and they can't see anything. Still makes me worry though.
AgathaC - where did you go for your full body scan? Was it expensive?
Jeepers xx

Nope. But any marks on the body that change shape, begin to itch, darken .......... should be shown to a Nurse/GP - if necessary ask for a dermatology appt.?
-
I saw gp they said they are okay, one is almost black and square and another had got bigger and the surface was bumpy, but I was worried over nothing. So the uneven edges and colour differences aren't necessarily a problem it seems x
-
Do you feel reassured?
You could show a Pharmacist .......
-
I'll just keep an eye on them CLKD and watch if they change x
-
I was going to add see a Vet. ;) ...... if you know any.

Moles can be a constant source of anxiety if you have health anxiety. I also think they do change over time and also look different if you have been in a hot bath for example.
I most have cut one when I was shaving my legs once and it got a bit crusty on top. I paniced. Saw a private specialist. Waited 6 weeks to get it off(it was tiny) then 3 months (yes 3 months) for a letter saying sorry for the wait it was only a freckle. So 4 months of panic for a freckle.
I also had a blocked pore on my nose which I used to pick and ended up with the doctor with that . I saw a locum who laughed and said 'my dear it is a teeny tiny spot. Leave it alone.' I felt about 10.......
Good GPs say just come in and get anything checked out, that is what they are there for and better safe than sorry. I always ask to see the GP who specialises in skin stuff - he just gets his knife out and scrapes them off there and then.

I have an old age spot on my forehead which gets crusty which I can then peel off. Of course if I remembered to put cream on it ::)
Try not to spend hours waiting for it to change though CG :-\

I won't CLKD I've pushed that thought away hopefully for a few months at least, plus I won't be scared to bare my legs if the sun comes back at some point x
-
It's hard to tell if they're growing so I would measure it now then again in a couple of months. I've recently been to my gp about one, she said not to worry - but she isn't an expert do perhaps she's wrong...

If it goes crusty it needs looking at even if it comes and goes. Treatment is much easier at an early stage with little or no scaring.
