Hi ladies can anyone help please ?
I'm 42 and well into peri. I've noticed over the past few months that after sex all my bits burn. This will last for a few days and then eases off for a while.
It's almost like the burning ache you get with cystitis.
Also, when I wipe after a "tinkle" it all feels much drier tho during sex dryness isn't a problem (sorry tmi).
I'm wondering if it's the start of va.
Thank you for reading.
Take care

Sorry ... Didn't mean to upset anyone. Apologies if I've caused offence xxx

No not at all its just that for intimate things people will feel more comfortable not posting on the open forum.
There are quite a few threads running on this at the moment. Have you had a look there

Hi Suzi Q and thank you again.
I'm 42 and started peri about two years ago. My dear mum had completely gone through meno by the age of 46. This burning started about a year ago. Guess it's back to GP for me.
Thank you again. Don't feel so alone now.

Same with MUM I remember at 16 her sitting with a fan on the bus shed be 36/37
I started exactly the same age 36/37 finished by 43 now 59 AV started 2008
I ignored it just an itch few months later pain sore throb went away again then Sept 2008
IT started and has never gone Ovestin stoped working it would fall out as it went in next day
I started Vagifem 14/2/2010 its not perfect and I get days sometimes even a week it fails
Then I use an extra one or 2 over a cople of weeks and it rights its self AV cant be cured
If caught early you can control; it I left it too late So do as I say not as I did hehehe

Speaking with your GP or Practice Nurse about this is important. I didn't listen to my GP when he made the association between symptoms and VA ::) - fortunately I didn't get the 'told you so' look from him either ;)
-
Sounds like VA to me, so go to doctors and get it treated. Don't be fobbed off like me, it took me nearly a year to get doctor to prescribe local oestrogen.
-
Not sure my symptoms are VA since I have lichen sclerosis (10years) but recently I have been suffering with painful clitoris (general) and tingling labia majora ...sorry...don't don't how else to put this. Probably more to do with LS so quite worried. GP appointment next Monday. Must say I haven't had much support from GP with LS over the years. They should monitor regularly in my view.
-
If it is a change from the usual that you experience (you should know after 10 years), VA is suspect. The tingling could be the start of burning and believe me!!!!you don't want that. Good that you are going to GP next week!

Just explain IT feels differently OK
If he/she isnt giving the help you need it maybe because they dont know as much?
Glad you seeing GP next week maybe ask to see a GYNEY xxxxxxxx

Thanks everyone, tingling is pretty constant at the moment and couldn't sleep with ache last night. It's hard to know what is going on with LS in the frame since tingling can indicate pre cancerous state I have read. :(Symptoms are definitely different to those experienced with LS last 10 years. Will let you know what GP says. I refuse to be fobbed off! ;D
