I am 55 years old, post menopause, i recently had a scan with showed the endometrium to be 16mm thick, i DON'T have any bleeding, i was called to go for a biopsy last tuesday, but it was so painful they are now doing it under a general tomorrow, has anyone has similar problems? and what was the outcome? consultant said the was checking for cancer

:welcomemm: ...... not had this problem but you seem to be getting the support required. Reported symptoms and what is probably the 'usual' pathway to getting a result, with which you can be provided with treatment/not if necessary. Who will be driving you there adn back?

Are you on HRT? Good luck, am sure that all will go well, you are in great hands

It's probably standard procedure. I'm going for a scan for my stomach pain. GP is pretty certain it's HRT but wants to ensure it isnt ovarian cancer (yes, she actually said that!)
Good luck for tomorrow.

Hi Saltygirl - welcome to the forum.
It is usual to have a thickened lining checked out just to rule out endometrial cancer. Good luck for tomorrow. Do you know what the reason was for referring you for a scan?
Please let us know how you get on.

not on hrt, was having abdominal pains for over a year and weight loss, nothing showed up in any of the tests and scans except a thickening of the uterus so my gastro consultant referred me to gyny

Hope all goes well today saltygirl.
