Hi ladies
Have any of you tried the tablets called Solifenacin succinate for helping leakage. The Urologist prescribed these for me saying the side effects was just a dry mouth, I though ok thats not bad but when I read the leaflet it got be thinking whether to start them or not. I've tried all sorts, even bought a kegel8 over a year ago, only helped a little, was changed from vagifem to estrodil cream helped the first week and not much after that, I'm now on evorel patches 75, since August this year, as had a full hysterectomy back in 2009, its helped with hip pain but not down there, it seems to be stress incontinence not the urge to go, just when I'm out walking dog I leak for no reason not massively, I don't drink tea or coffee or thinks that will trigger it off, so at moment I'm doing pelvic floor muscles, which I've been doing for god knows how long. Thanks ladies

No experience of them but mine was cured by testosterone. Not sure if it helps everyone though, I had problems pulling muscles for no reason and it improved muscle tone including pelvic floor.

Hi Baz,
I have a prolapse and had an appointment with a Gynaecologcal Physiotherapist last week regarding my weak Pelvic floor.
She explained that doing Pelvic floor exercises won't make things better, or repair the damage already done, but they will prevent things getting worse, so definitely keep doing them (same with the Kegal 8 which I also bought - keep using it - every little helps! ;))
I can't advise on the meds as I haven't been prescribed anything, but I do have stress incontinence, I was on HRT (patches) but if I'm honest I don't think it helped with the problems 'down there' at all.
I also have terrible hip pain, but the Gynae didn't think this was related to the Pelvis - can I ask why you had a Hysterectomy? (you don't have to answer it)
Sorry I can't give any more advice than to just keep doing the exercises.
xx

This is a common problem after hysterectomy. The removal of the uterus weakens the pelvic floor and can lead to prolapses. You should ask for a referral to a uro gynae/pelvic floor specialist. I had a hysterectomy 7 years ago and have had various stress incontinence problems and a return of my bladder prolapse. I agree with corianne that you need a proper exercise programme to follow in order to stop things getting worse. Being on HRT is definitely a good thing.

Hi coriander
I had the hysterectomy cause I bled after 2 years from last period, had surgery, and the results were very early sign of cancer. So had the full hysterectomy done.
Using the kegel8, I mentioned to my urologist, she asked loads of questions and she said using the kegel is not always good because your relying on the machine to do the job rather than your brain, something to do with the information and passing it to your brain. Something a bit like taking laxative your body becomes dependant on it and then it can't do it when you stop the laxative if that makes sense.
I've had all the test done, scans etc, no sign of prolapse, was just told to do the exercise they gave me, when I was there she said I was doing it right. Just wonder if testerone would help, I know there's alot about it, some drs not given it.

Oh hi! Yes quite a while but guess menopause is for life not just for Christmas ;D. Good to hear from you but sorry you are having leakage problems. Solve one problem (hyster) and lay ourselves open to other problems it seems
