Helpful discussion in the press about the programme and the Langer paper at https://www.theguardian.com/society/2017/apr/15/menopause-kirsty-wark-breaking-the-silence
‘I just coped': Kirsty Wark on breaking the silence about menopause.
Kirsty's BBC documentary is the latest example of articulate women talking about ‘the change'
Kirsty is fronting a documentary: The Menopause and Me. Her involvement in the programme comes from her own sudden and unexpected experience. She had a “medical menopause†at the age of 47, after a hysterectomy and after coming off hormone replacement therapy (HRT).
Aside from the obvious physical battle she had to endure, what Kirsty also struggled with was the apparent silence surrounding the menopause.

Hello Emma.
I thought I would inform you and the other ladies on the forum that in my area this programme has been replaced by a political debate. I can't find any notification of a new broadcast date and wonder if other MM members are having the same problem. So much for a higher profile for the menopause, didn't last long did it!
Also I'd like to take this opportunity to thank you for all the work you do for the forum, it is much appreciated.
Take care.

I had a look at the BBC1 page, and it said " except Cambridgeshire, East, North East & Cumbria, Northern Ireland, Northern Ireland HD, West, West Midlands " >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( :( :( :( :( :-\ :-\ :-\ :-\ :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'(
-
Might be worth looking through the spare satellite channels for the London one though ;) ::) :) ;D

Is this 'The Insiders' Guide to the Menopause' rebranded for national audience?
-
Hello ladies.
Yep, I'm in one of the 'except' areas.
I did wonder if it was basically the 'Insiders Guide' programme. Whatever the format I'd still appreciate the opportunity to see it!
Take care all.

Hello again ladies.
Oops, silly me! The menopause programme was on last night but on the BBC HD channel instead of the regional one as listed. I had gone to bed but my husband spotted it and recorded it for me. I'm blaming my meno brain for my mistake and I hope I didn't spread too much confusion on the forum!
Take care ladies.

I must admit, in all my postings above, I never thought to look at the HD channel either ::)
It was live on the I-player.
It is a shame it was on so late.
-
Ladies I'm confused. Is this the Kirsty Wark prog that was on a few weeks ago? Just checked out iPlayer and it seems to be the same one.
-
Hi Elizabethrose - it seems to be the same one to me!
-
Thanks Jenna, thought I was being totally dozy! x
-
Yes - definitely the same one, but renamed for BBC1 (HD ;D ) audience.
It is well worth watching again. It makes me smile. And all that cake :o

Recorded watching now
