Have any of you ever waited the full 3 weeks for an all clear result? I have talked to a couple of colleagues who were told 3 weeks but heard within a week. I am wondering whether to chase it up or not. Last time I had been recalled and had had a 2nd scan plus result by now. Perhaps the longer wait means that it was clear but I don't know for sure. My pessimistic side says that it could have got lost in the post. It is now 11 days since the scan. Perhaps I should wait until 2 weeks are up?

Hi. I've always had to wait three weeks for mine. If they said three weeks to you then I'd be inclined to wait until then before chasing it up. It is horrible waiting.

Yes i suspect you are right. I only wondered because of my colleagues being told 3 weeks and then getting it within 8 days.

It may depend on staffing levels. Quite a lot of sickness around at the moment so that might make a difference. It might turn up tomorrow.

It does depend on when you had the mammo too, if there's a weekend involved it may well take longer. Also, the radiographer will be aware of any anomalies which would have been brought to the Consultant's attention if necessary.

Do you mean having the scan done at a weekend? Mine have both been on a week day. This time a Thursday.

So it is unlikely to be reported on until at least Monday, given that there's a weekend involved. Unless your Health Authority works at weekends but even then, secretaries have to type up results.

Last time I had the scan on a Friday and got the recall letter on the following Wednesday. Nothing today so will have to wait.

Still no news I'm afraid. 2 weeks now so I will chase it up next week if I hear nothing by then.
