Title: Puppies!!!
Post by: robotwars on June 13, 2020, 05:51:30 PM
HI! I am really surprised how much puppies have gone up in price during covid, we lost our dog at the beginning of March, he passed away due to health issues, we had had him for 14 years, we have been looking for another dog but the prices are ridiculous, we wanted a poodle but they are so expensive, I have seen them for ?3000 each, I have searched the rehoming sites etc and contacted all the breeders but nothing!!! i'm so shocked at the prices and also how many scam artists there are out there....

Avoid the scam artists.  Apparently Battersea Dogs Home have rehomed more than ever - on line interviews  :-\.  How many will be dumped when owners return to work?

The excuse is that breeders don't want people to buy puppies during C-19 because house checks can't be completed.  Bitches were already pregnant at the start of lock down but now ?!?

Price nor Kennel Club registration means much I'm afraid.  Poodles don't shed.  Standards are of course Gun Dogs.  They are characters ;-).  Any rescue societies for Poodles?

Funny you should start this thread robotwars,I was looking today at adverts for poodle x chihuahua (we have two) we paid roughly 500 or 600 pounds for ours but when looking today 1500!! Whaaaaaaat!!

I'm sure that i read somewhere that enquiries for puppies went up by 140% during April/May.

What are these people going to do when they eventually go back to work and the dog starts suffering from separation anxiety. Coming home to a ripped sofa or a pile of poo everyday is going to see rescue centres overrun. Very sad!

I know, poor little mites, are people REALLY that selfish? Buy a puppy to keep themselves amused til lockdowns over  >:(  :'(
Title: Re: Puppies!!!
Post by: CLKD on June 13, 2020, 06:22:02 PM
Which is why prices have risen?  A good breeder of course will have a list of potential owners B4 putting the dam to a sire.  With non-returnable deposits to stop time wasters.

This issue was discussed on the jo Goode radio programme (she dedicates one show a week to all things dogs) .  Lady from battersea home  was on and said they have been inundated with ppl wanting dogs.  She said  the new saying should be "a puppy is for life not just for lockdown".

Did the woman from Battersea explain that they were rehoming, virtually?
Title: Re: Puppies!!!

Battersea should be more responsible,if you watch the Paul O?Grady programme, the number of times a dog is returned,I think you?re either a doggy person or your not

Our neighbours have puppies: one family have had dogs for years, the others, well "It's like having a baby".  Yep  ;D

She did CLKD.  And she said puppies need to be"socialised" which she said can't  happen during lockdown.  I would imagine  its a worry that a vulnerable or young dog will have maybe come into.a house where everyone is at home for months  during lockdown and then get separation anxiety when everyone in the house gos back to work/school.

Jaypo. It has me crying my eyes out when they get returned.  Some have been in several homes  :'(

He has another new dog.  Last time they filmed he brought a,pup home to "foster"  but he said himself "like I was ever going let her go ".

I'm surprised that Battersea are allowing virtual adoptions as I thought their process was really rigourous. When my parents contacted them they were told they needed a vet reference, an interview at Battersea and a home visit. I know of other rescues who have suspended adoptions because they can't do home visits.

I know a couple of people who have got puppies in the last few weeks. One family lost their dog a few months ago, and couldn't cope without having a dog around, so I know they're in for the long term, and they have family around the house at all times so the puppy will always have company. The other people I don't know as well but one of them works from home normally.

My biggest fear is that people get puppies from puppy farms. I know someone who got a puppy from an "oops" litter and the poor little mite has been sick a lot. At least that person is willing to take it to the vet and look after it but it's awful to think how much it's sufering  :'(
Title: Re: Puppies!!!
Post by: CLKD on June 15, 2020, 07:52:34 AM
Many years ago, in the early 1990s, I joined 'puppy watch' which campaigned against Puppy Farms.  Channel 4 did a programme about the awful trade.  Still the Councils registered the 'diversifying farms' as breeders  :'(

The Kennel Club registered 2 litters of pups from the same dam and stud: born two days apart.  At the time they charged a fiver each puppy given a KC registration and Channel Four picked up the paper work  :'(

Title: Re: Puppies!!!
Post by: jaypo on June 15, 2020, 12:23:03 PM
The KC are a waste of space in my opinion, always have been, they don't give a hoot about these poor breeds,German shepherds with ever sloping backs, bulldogs with shorter and shorter snouts, sharpeis with the more wrinkles the better, they should be shut down, rant over

In Sweden the KC visit each prospective dam/stud B4 allowing them to be signed to the Club.  Any breed with inherited conditions isn't accepted.  End of.  They also used to visit each litter .......... much more robust!
Title: Re: Puppies!!!
Post by: jaypo on June 16, 2020, 08:20:22 AM
Oh good for them, why can't we do the same? The KC takes in all this money and for what? When you sell a dog.....oh,it's KC registered, yeah? So? Makes my blood boil too clkd
Title: Re: Puppies!!!
Post by: CLKD on June 16, 2020, 08:25:20 AM
It doesn't mean good breeding ;-).  And don't we all have a Pedigree  ;D.

When I registered my parti-cocker in 1989, I was told that on no account was I to put her to a solid colour - my friend had a solid black and a blue roan and the KC registered all 3 of their litters  >:(.  It was a fiver a time then.
Title: Re: Puppies!!!
Post by: jaypo on June 16, 2020, 12:39:27 PM
No,it definitely does not,I really don't know what their purpose is anymore, dogs are selling for thousands WITHOUT being KC registered anyway.
Title: Re: Puppies!!!
Post by: CLKD on June 16, 2020, 03:47:09 PM
Because the KC won't register 1st cross or mongrels?  Because they don't breed 'true to form'  ::).  It was years B4 they would accept Jack Russell Terriers, the worst thing ever to happen.  Those JR enthisastis though have their own Pedigree History  ;)
Title: Re: Puppies!!!
Post by: jaypo on June 16, 2020, 05:18:17 PM
Wasn't it that they had to be a BREED for 50 years? There was talk of labradoodles becoming a breed, ooooowwww way to common for the KC  ;D
Title: Re: Puppies!!!
Post by: CLKD on June 16, 2020, 05:20:32 PM
Labradoodles were bred as assistance dogs.  Many people have allergies and it was hoped that by crossing Labs with poodles, they would produce a non-shedding pet.  Didn't work  ::).  This of course led to cockerpoos etc..  1st Cross are lovely as it gets rid of some of the health problems.  Someone did explain how long it takes with these labradoodles etc. B4 they fail to breed to look anything like the relatives  :D

Beware of scammers definitely,i was scammed last year, gave the woman ?50 towards petrol costs, turnedv out that she has no dog, and has scammed lots of people, and still is,up to yesterday even,
I had a call yesterday from someone who thought she was being scammed by the same woman, as i had put a warning on "Petsfor homes", and the seller was called by the same christian name, this lady paid ?250 deposit, and said the only video she got was of someone holding a puppy and it was so dark she couldn't tell what it was, the seller then disappeared from the website and heard nothing since,
The woman gave her a story about her partner being the breeder but living 80 miles away, and didn't like talking to people
I am afraid this is a scammer too

The puppies are ridiculous prices, almost ?5000 for a Germn Shepherd.poodles and all dogs have shot up in price since lockdown
There are Poodle rescues ,in fact most breeds
I only really found out when i googled her phone no, over 2000 searches for the same no,and all had been scammed
Fraud squad got involved but obviously did nothing

Don't mind.  Stinks would be a different matter!

Get rid of the heavy coat, pony clippers work.  Down to the under fur and a good wash.  Rinse gently. Repeat.

Lots of raw veg. for dental health, mine had carrots every day.  Never had bad breath unless her gut was upset.

How are the anal glands, also between the paws.  My cocker's smelt of cheese  :o  ::).  Quite nice actually.

Oh clkd,if you knew her problems, she's on a very special diet, can't even get tidbits, she's allergies like you wouldn't believe, she's on 3 different tablets to keep it all at bay, costs us a fortune, least she hasn't got the squits anymore
Title: Re: Puppies!!!
Post by: CLKD on June 17, 2020, 05:55:52 PM
What's causing the allergies?  You may have said B4  ::)

How about raw food diet?  Probably too late now.  There is so much rubbish in canned foods that can affect our pets.  My cat was allergic to something in 'Felix' which would make her ichty and scratch: when she was changed to another canned food 6 weeks B4 she died, within 24 hours she stopped scratching.  I never thought about food allergies  :'( and it's regret that haunts me.

Years++ ago we knew a cat that had grass pollen allergy, his eyes and lips would swell  :'( and hated the medication  ::)
Title: Re: Puppies!!!
Post by: jaypo on June 17, 2020, 06:20:39 PM
Everything, tree pollen, grass pollen, she never had it before we moved here,we've so many trees here, the food is so expensive but she's been ok on it,if she does get squitty at any time,we give her canikur,it's a probiotic and it cures her almost immediately
Title: Re: Puppies!!!
Post by: CLKD on June 17, 2020, 07:45:37 PM
Odd these allergies in pets.  Do you have to wash her face and paws after every walk?
Title: Re: Puppies!!!
Post by: jaypo on June 17, 2020, 08:39:33 PM
She's on a drug called apoquel and some steroids and we wash her with prescription shampoo, she's hard work, still want her  ::)
Title: Re: Puppies!!!
Post by: CLKD on June 18, 2020, 08:22:51 AM
Is it the food that makes her smell?   When I fed my 'minced morsels' - remember the advert with Clement Fraud ? - it made my cocker's skin and hair smell, so I stopped giving it to her and she stopped smelling.  Other foods made her skin and coat dry ....... fortunately she wasn't fussy  ;D [long story short]
Title: Re: Puppies!!!
Post by: jaypo on June 18, 2020, 12:43:27 PM
I don't think it's the food,it's her skin, plus she sits to pee but then gets up and she's still dribbling a bit,all I seem do is wash her bed then her,I'm always paranoabout the carpet and house smelling, which it does from time to time but she now sleeps with a cone on her head to stop her licking her paws or she'd do it all night, then you should smell the place  >:(
Title: Re: Puppies!!!
Post by: CLKD on June 18, 2020, 02:32:15 PM
Oh the Forum is So Slow  >:(.   ::)

Has the Vet suggested medication to stop her dribbling, to tighten up the pelvic area?  I would keep her trousers and under the tail well clipped - fur is good for the
birds ;-).  Is she sore, I don't think they do VA treatment for bitches  :-\

Title: Re: Puppies!!!
Post by: jaypo on June 18, 2020, 02:42:41 PM
You?re telling me it's slow, thought it was just here  >:(
She's to go in soon to get her claws clipped under sedation (or she'd eat the vet) so they give her a good old once over then, bloods etc,so I?ll ask them about the weeing
Title: Re: Puppies!!!
Post by: CLKD on June 18, 2020, 02:57:11 PM
A whole Vet., probably 'cos she's hungry prior to sedation  ;D

There's 1 near us that is all shades of brown, lemon, cream ...... about a year old and STUNNING :-))).  Long haired too. Haven't been able to have a cuddle yet due to distancing  :(

Whilst yours is 'under', get them to trim the tail and trousers to have a Good Luck around the vulval area in case she's sore ??  When working as a kennel maid I once thought a bitch was in season due to spots of blood on the concrete but it was a urine infection  :'(  :-\ - after I had moved all the dogs out of the way, cleaned the kennels down, put bitches in the clean kennels  ::).  I still feel guilty 28 years later, she must have been in pain  :-\

Title: Re: Puppies!!!
Post by: jaypo on June 18, 2020, 03:24:06 PM
I know,we all know how painful a urine infection is,it's sometimes hard to detect with her,coz she only pees on grass, she good with us,let's us do ANYTHING to her, just doesn't trust the vet,who can blame them  :o I just can't cut through her claws, because she's black, all her claws are black and are like steel,oh,yes, she could definitely eat a whole vet  ;D

That elderly Lab with a grin all over his face, probably relieved to be back at the shelter  ;D and he will certainly get a home.  "Because he wouldn't behave"  ::) - he certainly didn't look particularly bothered.

And those Maltese terriers and a Bichon Frise that were confiscated at Customs, covered in oil  :o  :-\
Title: Re: Puppies!!!
Post by: getting_old on July 08, 2020, 09:50:13 PM
Sad that people don't at least take the time to take the dog to a proper rescue or shelter. There are genuine situations, e.g. if someone dies or has to go into a home, but surely when dogs have been rehomed the owners should have been properly checked.
Title: Re: Puppies!!!
Post by: CLKD on July 09, 2020, 06:15:18 AM
They have been checked via Zoom-type platforms since lockdown ......... so new owners could be getting a dog for someone else.  Also, after 10 years - this Lab came from the shelter where he was left outside - paper work probably hadn't been kept.  People are rarely honest about leaving animals behind, they worry that the RSPCA will take action.

They also don't want to be the one that takes a sick animal to the Vet for the final time - I saw a lot whilst working in rescue, broke my heart  :'(.  Then I had to rehome my pets and will never get over it ..........
Title: Re: Puppies!!!
Post by: jaycee on July 09, 2020, 10:39:18 PM
Our local rescues say they haven't had any rescues in for 12 weeks,
A lady messaged me after i put a warning on petsathome, about the woman who scammed me,she had already paid a deposit for a GSD before she saw my warning, she was scammed for that, no dog,so thought she would try someone closer to home, only to be told the man had the pups, but the owner was in London[8 week old puppies] she had wanted to see them with mum, also in London. he wanted ?350 deposit, another scam, she didn't pay of course, then got a message, all pups were sold, a lie of course, no puppies.
Obviously no puppies, and that woman who scammed me still doing it
Title: Re: Puppies!!!

No idea of where she lives apart from wales,
I see another lot of pregnant dogs and puppies have been stolen from kennels yesterday i think
I think this was from a boarding kennel, but i have seen dogs stolen from breeders who were kept in kennels, i don't agree with that, so many poor pregnant dogs living in kennels, how are the puppies going to be socialised
A lot of money must be being made at the moment, with the prices being asked
Title: Re: Puppies!!!
Post by: CLKD on July 10, 2020, 02:31:53 PM
It does depend on the kennels.  My friend bought two labs from a registered kennels and they were fine.  As they grew the pups were taken into a barn to get used to washing machines etc., lots of areas to play together .  Our gun dogs were kept in kennels but whelped in the kitchen  ::).

Although the LA registers kennels etc. they don't follow through .......... so puppy farms can be registered but not supervised  >:( especially in Wales.

How awful were the pippies found alive? there has been a spate of dog thefts in a certain are,i think it said 34in the last few weeks
It was put down to the high prices being asked by breeders, about 12 including puppies and several pregant dogs from a kennels, which id terrible on its own, poor dogs, why keep them in kennels anyway, just greed in my opinion, maybe someone thought they would have  better home elsewhere, but mainly to sell at the ame high prices
There is an ad on freeds ,asking £650 for a 12 year old Jack Russel
I'm afraid i couldn't resist letting them know what i thought of them selling a poor dog at that age, never mind what rhey were asking for him
I expected a nasty reply but i got one saying she was asking that to stop people getting him for bait, but i think just jumping on the bandwagon,
Who is going to pay the for a 12 year old anyway, who might not have many years left,
Title: Re: Puppies!!!
Post by: jaypo on July 21, 2020, 07:49:19 AM
Hi Jaycee 👋 I did the same, there were cross poodles in the ads, think they were cavapoos or cockapoos, anyway, something like that and the price?? 3500 omg for a cross breed?!?! So I emailed them and said, you should be ashamed of yourself, they never replied.
We have two cross poodles and I'm glad we bought them when we did as they cost roughly 600 Each, which,in itself is astronomical but now? Blimey,we got a bargain
Yes those pups or pips as you like to call them  ;D ;D were alive, just so cruel to tie them in a plastic bag and leave them hanging on a fence in the middle of nowhere, just so happened someone passed by.How can these people sleep at night  :'(
Title: Re: Puppies!!!
Post by: CLKD on July 21, 2020, 08:32:06 AM
Many years ago when I was looking for a pup I came across an add in the weekly papers in Wisbech.  It turned out to be a 'farm', in that the people bought dogs to a central kennels to sell on.  I sent several letters to the Editor of the papers to ask them to remove the advert but it remained in place for over 35 years.  The response from the editor was "A potential owner should see the puppies with their mother".  Cop out!

A good kennels of course will have foster parents for elderly dogs.  Not offer them up for a huge sum.  If they don't want the JR to be bait then don't put the advert in the public domain?

Breeding kennels do have dogs outside - can't have several bitches and pups running around in the house .......... many breeders bring the bitch into whelp inside and the pups are raised so that they get used to household noises.  If thieves are targeting properties they will be prepared with bolt crops etc. and a van  :'(
Title: Re: Puppies!!!
Post by: jaycee on July 21, 2020, 09:53:11 PM
I am so glad those puppies were alive,at the moment it seems lots of spaniels seem to be the targets
I can't bear to think of how scared and confused those stolen dogs are feeling
When i got my little Lola [profile pic] she cried at the door for ages for her previous owners who left her with me
It was heartbreaking to see and hear :'(
She slept on my bed though from that night onwards
These people who steal the dogs don't care or seem to realise that the dogs are upset too
I just can't look at some of the things about dogs, or any animals on facebook and think of not only the owners but the poor stolen dogs :'(
Oh yes, the prices! it is disgusting and these breeders should be regulated as to what prices they can sell at,as most are just jumping on the bandwagon, a puppy that was £300 before this pandemic is now at least £1.500 and up to £3000. and they say say they are not in it for the money!!they must be raking it in.
Who can afford these prices? no wonder there are so many dog thefts,

Years ago I worked along-side the Dog Warden, she would use my dog as evidence that not all dogs are nasty  :-*.  She came from up North and the habit there was to cut the ears off whippets etc. and dump them if they 'were no good' or too old to course or race.

I wish that the BBC etc. would make these issues front line news  :-\

Bloodhounds in our area are retired usually back to the puppy walkers ;-). Bloodhounds slobber  :-X

Sheep dogs and working gun dogs are sometimes shot when no longer of use.  Or if they get nasty which they can be, as they are nippers.  Not in malice but as a practicality.

After bloodhounds have been kennelled the way they are, they do not make great pets, and the majority are killed once they're too old,I just hate the way people use animals as commodities and not living breathing creatures which feel pain and stress. My grandpa shot his old collie but he loved her and it was quick, she was riddled with cancer,so I don't have issues with that least it's humane

I have never heard of whippets having ears cut off, but nothing  much surprises me now
Did anyone see the breeder on this morning who had 14 cockerpoos stolen, 6 dogs and 8 puppies valued at around £2.500
Poor dogs and babies, dogs could be heard barking in the background
I don't care what anyone says these prices are a money making racket, she actually looked a bit sheepish i thought when being interviewed,i bet lots of people were thinking the same as me,
When someone has that many dogs i don't believe they are properly housetrained and socialised,it's a business
Breeding is supposed to be to keep a good line going and for the good of the breed
I have a friend who used to breed cats, but now breeds dogs, she told me once there is no money in breeding cats, but there is in dogs,

Was that the breeder from Upwell?  They would have been worth a lot more than £2,500.  If it is the same, the thieves broke through two locked metal gates B4 they got to the kennels which are behind a high wooden fence.  If they want to get in they go prepared  :-\

Most dogs are euthanised when they are old  :-\ and locally, the hounds go back to the puppy walkers .......... even if they have another pup, usually posh farmers ;-).  Apparently when one is followed by a blood hound, it makes the hairs on the back of the neck stand up  :o because they have a specific howl ......

There is a woman in our area who breeds what is in 'fashion': so anything that wins at Crufts ..........  :-\  :'( .......... how she disposed of a litter of 9 Lab pups in the 1990s is anyone's guess ......... thank goodness Staffies haven't won Best in Show.

The whippets had their ears cut off - it was in the 1980s/90s.   :'(

Omg don't get me started on staffies, when I worked in the pharmacy our delightful drug addicts told me they get extra benefits if they have a dog,so what do they all do? Yep,go out and get a staffie, poor animals, you just knew they got beaten, always looked so scared of their owners, too sad 😔

I believe it is true that drug addicts get extra benefits if they have a dog,i was at my local shops one day when a druggie was sat on the wall outside begging for money,he had a gorgeous husky with him, and asked if i could spare some money as his dog needed food,
I said i will get him some at the shop, he said oh no he only eats a certain kind, as he was talking to me, a woman close by was shaking her head at me, i went into the shop and the woman said, don't give him any money ,it's not for the dog, which i had aleady guessed , but how do they get dogs like huskies? they were not cheap even then
It is disgusting how much money the get, much more than we get pension i do know that

They often borrow dogs.  A few years ago it was babies and children - they would be swapped between beggars making out that they hadn't money to feed them - several young women and men were touting the same kids around.  Until Social Services stepped in on advice from the Police.  Most of them were from Romania.

They also breed them non stop and sell the puppies ......down the pub for a pittance to get their drug money, hence the reason they can afford pedigree dogs,it used to break my heart
Title: Re: Puppies!!!

Breeders do that anyway, KC doesn't seem to be very strict on how many litters 1 bitch will have.  It's supposed to be 1 per 2 years until the age of 8 ...........

I have sent an e-mail to the neighbours who have a pedigree that maybe their daughters shouldn't be walking it without an adult  :-\.  It's a very pretty pup of 18 weeks ......... ideal for a snatch from the side of the road and the girls couldn't cope if approached.  Sad ain't it  :-\

I mean the addicts breed them though not breeders and let's face it addicts could care even less than breeders.
Oh well done clkd, I agree, someone could see an opportunity there, just grab the puppy, omg what kind of world do we live in these days

Did anyone see about the tragic accident the puppy Katie Price got for her daughters birthday had?
That woman needs banning from having any animals
How many animals have died, in her care? if you can call it that
Not sure if this has already been mentioned, sorry if it has

Nope, is it in the News? - I know a family whose pets never live longer than 18 months  :-\ they simply have no idea .........

Oh so sad,i didn't want to say too much in case i was repeating what it said elsewhere
Katie Price was gifted a french bulldog for princesses 13th birthday but warned by the breeder never to leave a young puppy alone
Apparently, she was packing to go to Turkey, with [another ] new boyfriend and one of the other children found the poor little thing crushed in an electric chair,
This is the 3rd dog i believe of hers killed recently,a GSD was killed in February, after escaping  and another was killed by a pizza delivery driver, and another killed by some other driver, also a horse killed in a crash
Everyone is calling for her to banned from having animals, they have all died through carelessness basically
Her eldest disabled son has only recently come out of hospital,  for the second time, through  not being able to breathe
Her mother is dying of cancer, but she still floats off abroad with each new potential husband
Daughter is now back i believe with Peter Andre [dad]
He has Prada Willi Syndrome and is also blind

I thought that Harvey had died.   :-\

She's trying to fill in the kids' lives with gifts ........... surely she has staff?
Title: Re: Puppies!!!

She is supposed to be bankrupt, and now living in a rented house while her own is being cleaned up,it was filthy apparently, pics in papers, but read somewhere she still has £45 ,000 a month coming infrom somewhere
Harvey is still alive and ill a lot these days, his father has never bothered with him though, so she has had him to cope with, but i believe he is in residential care now
2 previous husbands have settled down with someone else and got other children,
Peter Andre is married to a Dr
KP says now Peter was the love of her life and regrets the breakup, but i'm sure he doesn't
She obviously has issues constantly having plastic surgery, but she was lovely looking before all the boob jobs etc

Omg I cannot stand that woman, she's a danger to herself and others, poor little puppy, you're right Jaycee, she's had four dogs, all died before they should've,think one was hit by a car and she's also had a horse die in her care too.Imagine using your sick son as an opportunity for a photo shoot, she's an abomination of a woman  >:(

Stolen from a pen in the garden  :o

Ms Palmer believes the thieves would have walked down her driveway and through her garden gate to get to the sparker puppies between 23:30 BST on Sunday and 03:30 on Monday.

Makes me so mad hearing about puppies left in pens, the barking would be heard, and the prices asked now are a big temptation i bet.poor puppies i hope they are safe
Which ones were these?
There seems to have been mostly spaniels, and french bulldogs, but a large litter of Jack Russels has been stolen
Someone on freeads selling an 18 month old JR for £1,300,disgusting ,

Sprokers.  But to leave pups in a cage in the garden with the Mum anyway  :-\. I know pups make a mess but the dam will clean them until they are about 4 weeks old.  Between the hours of 8.00 p.m. and 3.00 a.m.  :-\

Twelve dogs have been stolen from their homes in a spate of thefts over three days.

Three springer spaniels and a jack russell were taken from a shed in Markham late on Sunday night, Gwent Police said.

Two other spaniels were stolen from a shed at Pwll Y Pant in Caerphilly in the early hours of Tuesday.

And six further springer spaniels were stolen from kennels at Broad Street Common in Newport on Tuesday morning.

A police spokesman said: "It is believed spaniels were targeted specifically."

Certain gun dogs were targeted in the early 1990s, mine was in a kennel in the day but that stopped - she wasn't a gun dog and was spayed so no use to anyone.  We even put extra security locks on the house doors and gates into the garden as I got so that I was unable to leave her alone.

Omg,it's awful, I think if someone stole one of my dogs, I would never get over it,the not knowing of what happened to them.Thankfully, ours make such a racket if they see someone, then if our huge black German Shephard comes running down the garden, most people tend to move on pretty quick  ;D

I questioned someone today about the prices, and the reason given was because if someone paid £2000 the dogs would have a good home, so money talks ?  in other words if you can't pay that price you are going to abuse/ill treat or sell on, what an insult to real dog lovers
Only got to look at KP and be proved wrong

I had that said to me years++ ago - I pointed out that it doesn't matter the cost, pup/kittens end up in rescue when owners can't cope.  Of course, every breeder should have a returns policy!!

It breaks my heart clkd, there was a picture in the newspaper with the man cuddling this tiny pup,I doubt it was even old enough to be away from it's mum, poor little thing, after all the news stories about being careful where you buy pups from, why do people still buy them this way, anyone with half a brain wouldn't meet someone in a car park to pick up a puppy  :'( :'(

I know someone who did. In the 1990s she wanted to breed what was popular via Crufts ..... so met a man in a lay-by and bought a pup unseen.  It was quite a nasty terrier but she bred from it.  She then went onto the next 'popular' breed ......... where were the  UK Kennel Club in all that?

So sad this morning, watched footage of cctv of a woman dumping her old retriever near woods, the dog thought it was just going for a walk, wagging it's tail, she led it into the wood a bit, then ran back to her car and drove off  :'( people never fail to disgust me.Least they got the dog and I think they have got her as the footage clearly shows her number plate

It didn't look poorly, poor old thing,in it's final years,I really HATE these people  >:( why do people dump puppies? Even if they leave them at someone's door AT THE VERY LEAST,then they have a chance

These springers were probably destined for a quick sale puppy market, for those who don't want to pay breeders' prices.  I hate to think what conditions they have come from  >:( and quite honestly, the Vet should put them to sleep.  Unless they find the owner in Hungary there isn't a hope in hell of a prosecution.  So much for UK Border Control  >:(
