Title: Winter Olympics
Post by: Cazikins on February 17, 2018, 12:51:51 PM
Anyone watching the Olympics?.
It's a shame it's on such a different time zone to us.
Just watching the ladies skeleton is about to start soon & we are in with a very good chance of winning with Lizzie Arnold.
Come on Girl you can do it.

Yep.  We've had The Germ - thank goodness for Winter Sport, we've had no energy for anything else.

I'm trying to find the mens' skating ........ there's no rhyme nor reason to any of the schedules  >:(

I love the down hill: where 5/6 women or men go down and up ramps on boards ......... crikey it's FAST! and furious!

Loving it.  Why do I hold my breath when I'm on the settee!  ;D

The Winter clothing industry must have taken £Ms to accommodate the spectators!  Everyone watching looks so cosy !

Isabel Atkin - Slopestyle - BRONZE  :congrats:

It's amazing we win at an event held on snow and ice when the country grinds to a halt if we get any  ;D

You ladies do make me laugh...its so true CLKD you do find yourself holding your breath watching this stuff. We were watching the Curling the other night and my daughter chimes in "you know mum I think we would be really good at that sport"...hahahaha. I said I think I would be great with that broom thing they use, lol   ;D ;D ;D

The difference in time zones really made it hard for me to follow stuff this year. I'm kind of bummed out because of that, but thank God for youtube. That's where I'm catching up with what I'm really interested in.

Ah, YouTube - I managed to catch most of the ice skating by chance mostly.   Watching the womens' pairs in a Smartie tube

It's amazing that some athletes are still taking DRUGS  >:(

They are pretty good with that brush though, but what are the Norwegians wearing - pyjamas!!  ;D

I just cannot understand why they have the need to take drugs just to brush some ice  :o

What would make a good 3 day event in the role like the horses do:

Ice-dance, down on a tea-tray followed by ski jumping?

Seems the wardrobe malfunctions on the ice dance dresses is making bigger headlines than the skating. Am I the only one who nearly nodded off during the Virtue / Moir dance?

Apparently the rules have changed in that they can't have as much 'net' to hold the costumes together ......... whereas years ago they were sewn in! as are the Strictly dancers.

I thought that the Gold pair deserved it, but the couple dancing to the Moonlight Sonata didn't seem to alter pace at all.
