Post by: Odonnell on March 25, 2024, 03:29:12 PM
I'm taking 100mg of sertraline and I've been speaking to my Dr about starting hrt, but I don't understand them as apparently there a different types. I read Davina mccall has said its good for anxiety but Dr said I'm already taking sertraline so i wont need a hormone hrt . I've tried decision tree but it just Confused me. Which ones best if you've got anxiety and depression 🫥

Hi - why have you been prescribed sertraline?  Has it eased symptoms at all?

Hormone replacement thearapy is independent of anti-depressants and anti-anxiety medications.  Which symptom would you like to ease if you opt for HRT?  Your GP doesn't seem aware that the two conditions may/not be related.

Let us know more about why you opted for Sertraline in the first instance.

I've been on sertraline for years as I have anxiety but I just don't know which hrt is best.

I dont think its which hrt is the best as much as which hrt suits you better. I absorb the gel better than i do patches but some women prefer patches.

If you havent been on hrt before might be best to see if you have a meno nurse or something at your gp practice to have a chat with them x
