Yes, well so it's says on my calendar! :D >I got up , went into the kitchen and noticed a hissing noise. I thought I had developed tinnitus, but as it could only be heard in the kitchen I investigated. Yep! Water leak! On the rising pipe, so turning off the stop cock in the house is no good. Still a plumber is on his way. At least it is clean water and not flood water. And my birthday? We might have to postpone that. Yes, I think I'm 60 today.

Leak fixed and kitchen drying out. I will clean up the mess tomorrow. It can wait. We had planned to go to a NT property, but that needed an early start, so we are going to the nearby small city to have lunch, then be a tourist and look round the cathedral. It's so easy to overlook what is close by. Then in the evening, my daughter is making dinner, so we'll go over to their house.
A year ago I had started planning a party, but abandoned that, when I became poorly. I still don't think I could cope with all that now, even though I feel a lot better. I have kept very quiet about my birthday. The plumber cheered me up, as he thought it was my 50th! He said I look 45, but he knows my son, who is 30. He didn't think I was likely to have had him so young. He will go far in the charm stakes!

if it's a rising main then the stop cock by the road side is the important one rather than that under the sink :-\

I had a lovely evening at my daughters, with lots of cuddles from my gorgeous grandson. We took a guided tour around a school with 13th century buildings in the afternoon. There were concessions for people over 60.........he he! >:(
CLKD, you're right, but what I failed to mention was I had the runs and wasn't prepared to run down the rather long driveway in my pink spotty dressing gown every time I needed to flush the loo! :o

Thank you, Duliciana! That was great!
By the way, I have joined a new community choir in the next village, along with some of my fellow members of my other choir. There were about 30 singers, some experienced and some newbies, including some men. We made a great sound. The choir mistress is very musical and experienced. She was making up harmonies on the spot. It was exhilarating!

It was my birthday on the 11th and I appreciated my kids so much for all their love and gifts as well as friends. It is nice for someone to remember isn't it? I wasn't surprised by the guy who still calls himself my husband. He forgot. I did go out for a meal with my two who live with me and got spoiled! For all of you who have birthdays coming up, I hope they are happy ones, spent with people who care about you!

Happy birthday, Rose! I had a lovely surprise last night, when I went to my drama group rehearsal. I'd not mentioned to many people that it was my birthday and that it was a big one. They had made a cake, dairy and wheat free for me and signed a card. I was overwhelmed. How lovely.
